13.01.2022 Working Malinois Australia National IGP Championship 2021

11.01.2022 Some times you just need to put your feet up for a few days. #holidays #relax #takeabreak #bushbreak #camping #completecampsite #oppersteworkingdogs #newenglandnsw

01.01.2022 Training a puppy is a bit like learning to drive. You need the correct environment to start off or you are going to crash and fail. Imagine your first lesson wa...s on a motorway with thousands of cars rushing past at 80mph and you are having to concentrate on the complex instructions, Now remember, mirror signal....... p**s off we are guna die, I wana go home Now imagine taking your puppy to a busy high street for the first few times and expecting them to walk nicely, ignore people, sit at the road side with massive noisy metal boxes hurtling at you No way would I sit that close thanks, not for any amount of shitty biscuits! It’s too much, there are way too many distractions for that. They have gota asses: Is it dangerous? Can I eat it? Whats it smell like? Who’s been where? oh a leaf Whats that noise? Will it kill me? Can I hump it? Will that child pull my ears? Can I jump on them? I need a wee But where can I wee that’s safe? Then they hear..... Sit, sit ,siiiiiit, SIT, fluffy SIT!!!! Nope, I’m busy thankyou When you learnt to drive it was most likely at a quiet time in a quiet place so you could feel more relaxed and let the information sink in, let your muscle memory start to.....erm remember (plus run less people over) Your environment was set up for you to aid the learning process and get the physical skills right. So, When training your puppy, Start quiet, Consider the environment and how this will affect them. And chill out, RELAX , stop rushing, slow the F down. it took me a long time to learn to drive........ (And not just because my instructor was too busy rolling cigarettes and messing with the radio during my lessons) You get the idea.... Now, Mirror, signal, sit, down, stay!!!!!
