24.01.2022 I’m sure you all know, that one of the biggest challenges that faces small to medium business owners, and managers is that there is never enough time. Well, each of us has exactly the same 24 hours to use in every day that’s not very useful though, is it? The fact for us is that there simply doesn’t seem enough to get all of our work done. I find that as a business owner, one thing that steals time away from me more than anything is a lack of focus. It is so easy to get dis...tracted by the issues in our business that seem most urgent, or are the loudest, regardless of what important things there are to be done a cycle of working full-time on urgent, and missing out on important, and thus often missing out on opportunities. If throughout the day you have a finite amount of time and an infinite list of things on your plate, then it’s critical that you focus on the most important things on that list on a consistent basis. Easier said than done? There are many systems and methods that can help you to prioritise you workload. The main thing is to be focussed, and stay focussed Here are my tips, for what they’re worth: ... Make the list if you have heaps to do, you’ll remember it all more easily if it’s written down. ... Prioritise the list perhaps rate each item by how it will affect your business long term will it make you more successful? Spend the time to do this well, and then when it comes time to choose what you’re going to do next, the list will tell you. ... Get someone to help you prioritise your list, especially if you are likely to reduce the priority of important tasks due to them being not fun. ... If there are tasks you really don't like, that are important do them first! ... Get some time to work on your tasks away from the hustle and bustle of your normal day, even if it’s only an hour.
