23.01.2022 These new-old Ray-Ban's are already my favs! $25 from #rosebudvintagebazaar yesterday About an hour before I found these we were shopping at a 'normal' clothing store in Sorrento. I saw a stunning pair of sunnies that were $300 new but when I googled the brand I found ZERO about their sustainability credentials ... As much as I loved those sunnies, I've made a commitment to only *purchase* new items when the brand is transparent about who makes their products and what materials are used. I was so glad I stuck to my principles because I was primed to spot these gorgeous specs later in the day!

19.01.2022 Thanks South Yarra hard rubbish collection! And @nwbrittain for the tip off! #foundinthewild The sweetest old man encouraged me to look through everything he was throwing out today. I got these home and googled .... Made in Japan, 1960s. They're in perfect condition.

18.01.2022 Found for FREE in the wild yesterday... this retro @sportscraft prairie skirt in the cutest mini floral print with POCKETS (so big there's a tennis ball in one!) South Yarra in Melbourne is a bit fancy, and there are lots of branded clothes out on the street, ready to go to landfill tomorrow I've had some lovely conversations 'picking' this weekend. The average person in the street doesn't want to see this stuff get trashed and dumped. This morning I chatted to another... greyhound owner and her daughter who were rescuing books for the St Kilda Book Library. I've got lots more goodies to show you, including some designer 80s dresses! But about half of what I've collected I'll take to charity shops when they reopen (fingers crossed that's in a couple of weeks). See more

14.01.2022 Hmmm...something's missing? Aha - the wine! This tetris-style wine rack was #foundinthewild on the weekend - all boxed up by the previous owners, and ready for the taking. It retails at about $299 - clearly *nothing* to this household, because they had also thrown out a lovely wool rug that still had the original $2600 price tag attached. Alas, it was waaaaaay too huge to fit in my Suzuki Swift! I've driven past it three days in a row now, gazing longingly at it ... I was going to keep this wine rack. It's in perfect condition and I love the two-tone vibe. BUT I've decided to sell it because ... 1. I'm trying to cut down on my Covid-sized alcohol intake. 2. Today I found not one, but TWO cabinets that suit my needs better - pics of them coming this week! If you want to buy this, let me know if you're interested! I want to shift it fast! See more

10.01.2022 Opening Night! Penni Ave Distillery opened TODAY ... Thanks for the recommendation Luke! I'm wearing a super cute playsuit purchased today for just $10 from #rosebudvintagebazaar, paired with a Country Road woven leather belt (also thrifted!). Penni Ave has just opened in Rye, and is an Aussie vodka distiller. Having drunk my way through most of the world's gins, it's a refreshing change! Their spirit is distilled with Aussie pepperberry (gin = juniper berries). ... My cocktail contains Wattleseed and Burnt Honey. I how Aussies are embracing their native ingredients more and more

06.01.2022 Things my flatmate says ... You know you have a serious hard rubbish addiction when your flatmate says this and you feel elated!! If you see a rubbish pile within 5km is St Kilda, Melbourne, DM me people! ... Today, someone was moving out across the road and they left a mass of garbage bags on the street. Luckily someone else had opened them first (even *I* have limits) and when I peered inside I saw kitchen utensils, Christmas decorations, and a nice pair of woollen @countryroad arm warmers. Ta very muchly...they're mine now! See more

05.01.2022 Did you know that recycling can be so much more than chucking your plastic milk bottle in the yellow-lidded wheelie bin? This year, National Recycling Week's theme is 'Beyond the Bin' - so I want to give you a little insight into my business and personal lifestyle, where I not only try to #buynothingnew, but actively collect and live with other people's rubbish. I call #foundinthewild. ... Now, you might think that sounds a little gross. But ... Most of my clothing is silk, linen, wool and cashmere. My home is filled with stylish furniture. I have a stunning collection of house plants. A lot of the time the things I acquire cost me nothing! And what does it then cost the planet? Also nothing! It's a WIN-WIN. Today, I want you to feel inspired by my lifestyle - and see how a few quick mindset changes can help you live and work more sustainably too! My home office includes: leather office chair bought second hand on Facebook Marketplace ($600 instead of $1200 - I have a spine condition that means I can't use a cheap office chair - but I've found and sold plenty of cool mid-century ones I #foundinthewild!). House plants found on the side of the road, or propagated from ones that were in my garden! (Free!) Ikea desk - second hand from FB marketplace ($80) Original 1970s wool rug - second hand from a charity shop in London ($80) Mid century office cabinet from the side of the road (FREE) Pine plant stand and cane planter from the side of the road (FREE).

05.01.2022 Meet my new FREE found-in-the-wild couch! Someone had thrown this caramel leather beauty away. There isn't a single tear. The leather is super thick and sturdy. And did I mention the colour?!?!? I first saw it yesterday and instantly fell in love. I've been looking at new, low modular leather couches for *over a year* but...... A. I started a business this year and cannot afford new. ... B. I knew if I waited long enough it would come to me! I took my partner back to the spot today and it was still there. He usually tells me to STOP collecting but the second he saw it he approved We did THREE car trips to collect all the pieces but given it was less than 10 minutes from my house it didn't take long. Next up... cleaning it up. Then the fun bit.. figuring out how to recolour it back to its full caramel richness. AND sanding and revarnishing the feet. See more
