25.01.2022 Body Safety Chart for children's safety...

25.01.2022 This week is Postnatal Depression (PND) Awareness Week, and to celebrate we've teamed up with Smiling Mind to create Mind the Bump a world-first App designed ...to support the mental health and wellbeing of new and expecting parents. The App which is free is designed not only for new and expectant mothers, but new fathers and partners too. At least one in seven women will experience postnatal depression and up to one in 10 will experience it during pregnancy. Anxiety conditions are thought to be at least as common as depression during this time. Mind the Bump has been designed by mental health professionals and is based on extensive research showing the benefits of ‘mindfulness’, which is the process of not worrying about the past or future and instead paying attention to the present moment with purpose and without judgement. The meditations, some of which are voiced by Carrie Bickmore, run for between three and 10 minutes each. Visit www.mindthebump.org.au for more information or to download the free App via the Apple Store or Google Play. #mindthebump

08.01.2022 This is the gift: to have a wonderful capacity to appreciate again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder, and even ecstasy. #gratitude #Thanksgiving Abraham Maslow

04.01.2022 The new year is a great time for reflection. It doesn't need to be a difficult process or a list of resolutions. Simply ask yourself "What do I want more of in 2015?" I know that this year I want more fun, more time to play with my boys, more music and more "me" time. Then think about what you want less of in 2015. I know that this year I want less stress. Then think of what actions you need to take to get more of what you want and less of what you don't want. We'd love to hear what you want MORE of and LESS of this year

03.01.2022 Researchers remind us that we need five positive interactions to every negative interaction to keep any relationship healthy. And since we spend so much time gu...iding -- aka correcting, reminding, scolding, criticizing, nagging, and yelling -- it's important to make sure we spend five times as much time in positive connection. But we're only human. There are days when all we can do is meet our children's most basic needs. Some days it's nothing short of heroic simply to feed them, bathe them, keep an encouraging tone, and get them to sleep at a reasonable hour -- so we can do it all over again tomorrow! So given that parenting is the toughest job on earth -- and we often do it in our spare time, after being separated all day -- the only way to keep a strong bond with our children is to build in daily habits of connection. Here are twelve habits that don't add time to your day, but do add connection -- and could change your life.
