17.01.2022 So weve always cautioned friends and customers on using the typical (read: cheap) worm drive clamps. Reason being the "tail" cuts into joiners and over time when the rubber hoses/joiners harden, cracks develop and the hoses/joiners leak and fail. When we changed the oem radiator rubber hose on our Supra, check out what happened underneath the oem worm drive clamps! Definitely in need of some bling Phase 2 Motortrend Inc. clamps right Wayne?

For all purpose and intent, the worm-drive clamp has worked so far when used new on oem rubber hoses. But when repeatedly exposed to heat in and around the engine bay, rubber hoses harden and crack. The "grooves" on the metal band of the worm-drive clamps cut into the rubber hoses.... 05.01.2022 A little known fact about worm drive clamps that are found in most standard vehicles... yes they are cheap and they seem to do the job but... have you taken a look at yours recently? below are some pictures of what happens to your hoses and joiners when you use them with worm drive clamps. P2M clamps do not have the grooves that cut into the hoses.
