25.01.2022 Following the advice from our governing body Optometry Australia and the Commonwealth Department of Health, in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we have regrettably decided to cease all eye examinations in April. We have also significantly reduced our opening hours of trade. From Monday 6th April, we will be open from 9am-12pm on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays only. During these opening hours, you can come to collect your spectacles or contact lenses, browse our range of frames and sunglasses, or make new orders or purchases. No eye examinations will be conducted. At other times, enquiries can be made by sending us an email to: [email protected] We plan to resume normal trade from Monday 4th May. This of course will depend on whether there are any further restrictions mandated by the government.

24.01.2022 Father’s Day is just around the corner! Get dad a gift that proves you inherited his sense of quality and style. The Peahi polarised wrap sunglasses get their name from a legendary surf break on Maui’s north shore. Dad will appreciate a long-lasting view with pristine colours; and fortunately, these frames prioritise both beautiful clarity and resilient durability. Now available in Maui Jim's newest fashion mirror 'Hawaii Lava'.

07.01.2022 ODMA Trivia - After being in a swimming pool, often your eyes to get a little red and itchy. While you may chalk it up to the high chlorine content of the wate...r, thats not exactly the case. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the problem is actually due to all the urine in the water. Chlorine is supposed to kill germs but when it binds to urine (which swimmers put into pools), it forms chemicals called chloramines. According to the CDC, those chemicals are what cause your eyes to become so irritated, as well as your skin and respiratory tract. Gross... See more

01.01.2022 Marsden Eye Specialists thank you Marsden Eye Specialist for this lovely gift.

01.01.2022 We all have photos ruined by red-eye but what is it caused by? Red-eye occurs when using a photographic flash very close to the camera lense in low light. Whe...n light from the flash enters your eyes, the pupils do not have enough time to constrict. So the amount of light entering your eyes reflects off the red blood vessels of the choroid, a layer of connective tissue at the back of the eye. When the flash of a camera lights up the blood-rich retina, it creates the red-eye effect. See more
