20.01.2022 If you often wake up feeling like you haven't slept you might be one of the growing number of Australians with sleep apnoea. For the majority of sufferers a dia...gnosis has meant wearing a bulky breathing mask to bed. But now there's a much smaller alternative. More Info: http://bit.ly/2teLnNX #SleepApnoea #7News

13.01.2022 Amidst community concern regarding the COVID-19 pandemic we follow advice from NSW Health and our various professional bodies. The situation is rapidly evolving and subject to change with short notice. We have made the difficult decision to restrict non-urgent treatment. We have made this difficult decision to protect our patients, our staff and the community. We do this as responsible members of our community and our profession to contain the spread of the virus. ... If you are affected by this decision, our staff will contact you directly. We apologise if this decision affects you but please be assured you will be given the highest priority when we return back to normal duties. Our team will triage your appointment and determine the potential need to postpone your appointment or surgery. To all our valued referrers, Please be reassured we will look after and see your patients if urgent. For any non-urgent referrals we will contact your patients once the situation improves and it is considered safe to resume work as normal. We once again, apologise for any inconvenience. Keep safe and kind regards, the OMS Specialists (formerly NOFS) team.

12.01.2022 Impacted wisdom teeth symptoms can vary from person to person. Some of the symptoms include: Jaw pain Swollen, tender or bleeding gums Bad breath Disco...mfort when opening mouth Unpleasant taste in the mouth However, wisdom teeth also can be impacted and show no symptoms. Remember, pain-free does not mean disease-free. Wisdom teeth should be checked annually. https://myoms.org//wisdom-teeth-man/impacted-wisdom-teeth/

07.01.2022 Hello all. We hope you are well. Quite a few people have recently asked whether we are still seeing patients. Many of our referrals require treatment that is urgent or may not be able to wait. For this reason we are still taking referrals through our usual channels. We will subsequently triage these referrals and see patients as required and as per prescribed guidelines. We are aware these guidelines are subject to change at very short notice. ... We have modified our practice to allow phone/video consults. We will prioritise urgent referrals and respect social distancing advice as set out by the health authorities. If your patient’s situation is urgent, we are more than happy for your patients to call the practice. Or otherwise feel free to call/text/email either myself, Ben or the practice. I hope this avoids any confusion. Please stay safe and look after each other. My best regards, Deegesh www.omsspecialists.com.au

02.01.2022 What does it take to be an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon? A Dental and Medical Degree, a full year of Surgery in General (SIG), and a minimum of four years ext...ended training in order to become a certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a complex specialty combining dental, medical and surgical expertise. Our Surgeons specialise in the oral and maxillofacial regions of the neck and head. They diagnose and treat problem wisdom teeth, facial pain, and misaligned jaws. They also treat accident victims for facial injuries, carry out reconstructive and dental implant surgery, treat tumors, developmental craniofacial abnormalities of the jaws or facial regions. We recognise that becoming an OMS is no small feat, and we're proud to represent our Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons across Australia and New Zealand.
