22.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that our Preschool Services will now be known as Ngaarrila Preschool. Ngaarrila (Ngar - e - la) is a Gumbaynggirr word meaning Let’s play or Let us play. This name was given to us by Gumbaynggirr language expert Michael Jarrett with the full blessing of Aunty Shaa Smith. We gratefully embrace this name change as a reflection of our respect for the Gumbaynggirr Culture, Elders and Wisdom and also for its important message in this sacred ti...me of Early Childhood. Kalang and Orama have been operating as sister services for 11 years and in the past 12 months, following extensive review and reflection, we have recommitted to this partnership. A shared name signifies our unity and our wish to grow both Preschools side by side. The Association which governs both preschools will now be known as Ngaarrila Preschool Incorporated Association, the Preschools as Ngaarrila Preschool Kalang and Ngaarrila Preschool Thora. A big thanks to Tan from the Bello Floor Sander, who has worked around two floods and a broken bridge to be sure our floors were polished and ready in time. Our timber floorboards look as good as new, perhaps even better than when Tan's daughter attended our preschool 2 decades ago! Thanks Tan. #thora #bellingen
