25.01.2022 Happy Pride Month! We hope everyone is staying safe and keeping well. We're inviting all LGBTQI+ people who have or have had cancer (and their partners, family ...members and friends) to take part in the Out with Cancer Study. This study is all about identifying what matters to LGBTQI+ people experiencing cancer and how health care providers and policymakers can better meet those needs. Follow this link to take part: https://www.westernsydney.edu.au/out-with-cancer.html

21.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who took part in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea today! Without you, we simply couldn’t be there for the thousands of people who will be diagnosed with cancer this year, and the thousands already living with cancer. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for coming together to show that we are stronger than cancer. Don't forget, you can host it your way throughout May and June.... Register at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au and have a virtual event with your colleagues over Skype or Zoom, bake goodies and deliver to the doorsteps of your friends for a donation or host a drive through cake and cuppa stand like this wonderful school did today. Oh, the creativi-tea! #biggestmorningtea

20.01.2022 Once you hear the jingle, it’s hard to get it out of your head. Cancer Council first brought Sid Seagull onto our screens in the 1980s, and today, his message is as important as ever. This National Skin Cancer Action Week, we’re teaming with the Australasian College of Dermatologists to bring him back and encourage all those ‘80s kids who are now parents themselves to stay SunSmart this summer. A lot has changed since the ‘80s, but it’s still the same sun. UV radiation is just as dangerous, and sun protection is still the best defence against skin cancer.

20.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK 2020 | This week is an opportunity to recognise the 6 million Australian's who volunteer their time, including the thousands registered with Cancer Council who are here for people impacted by cancer. Thank you #nationalvolunteerweek

10.01.2022 Daffodil Day looks different this year. Your safety is always our biggest concern, so in this COVID-19 world, we won't be having our traditional stalls with fresh daffodils and pins. Instead, if you would like to support our appeal, you can donate a virtual daffodil. ... https://www.daffodilday.com.au/donate

10.01.2022 While we can’t gather at public events, we take time today to fall silent and commemorate past and present servicemen and women. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

08.01.2022 Our Relay For Life has been planned for September 12 and 13 this year, but with so much uncertainty and your safety our highest priority, the organising committee has decided we can't hold it in its regular form. We are working on what that event will look like, but we are leaning towards a smaller and socially distant Bark For Life event instead. We don't want there to be a focus on fundraising, we just want a reason for you - our wonderful Relay community, to be able to s...afely get together and Celebrate, Remember and Fightback against cancer. Keep September 12th free and when we know what our event wlll be, we'll let you know!

07.01.2022 We hope you’re having a SUPER day! One of our local relay heroes Annabelle sure is, dressing up for her local school ‘Super Hero’ day! Every Minute, Every Hour, Every Day, fight back against cancer! #oranarelayforlife #cancercouncilnsw #superhero #dubbo #school @dubbocity @thedubbonews @ccnsw_ @ccwesternnsw @relayforlifeaus

06.01.2022 This week is Men's Health Week. Did you know that, on average, more men than women are diagnosed with cancer? This is because of their higher rates of tobacco a...nd alcohol use, poorer diets and obesity. But around one third of all cancers in men can be prevented. Here's a list of things men can do to reduce the risk and impact of a cancer diagnosis: Stop smoking Be sun smart Be physically active at least 30 minutes on most days Eat a balanced and varied diet plenty of fruit and vegetables + limited amount of red meat Limit alcohol intake max two standard drinks a day + one or two alcohol-free days a week Take part in screening programs for early detection Take care of your mental health call our support line on 13 11 20 to learn more. 02.01.2022 A big Relay welcome to Alicia from Western NSW Local Health District! Will be great support for our region.

01.01.2022 Your safety is always our biggest and first concern. As we continue to face this pandemic, we have been trying to work out a way to safely come together and Celebrate, Remember, Fightback but we as a committee have come to the realisation that we can't. As much as we would love to come together as a community, we can't put you - our valued supporters at risk, so we have decided to cancel our September event. We know you will be disappointed, but understand that we had to can...cel. We're so thankful for all your support and look forward to when we can all come together again safely and Relay For Life. Our event may not be happening, but Cancer Council is always there - especially in trying times like this. If you have any questions relating to cancer and COVID-19 - head to our website - https://www.cancer.org.au//cancer-and-covid-/covid-19-faqs And don't forget our support and information service - 13 11 20. It's free and confidential.
