25.01.2022 As part of last night's Federal budget, any future first home buyers will be able to save and top up their deposit (up to $30,000) by salary sacrificing into their super fund from 1-July-17. This basically means first home buyers will be able to save up to 30% tax on their income they will use for a deposit to buy their first property.

21.01.2022 Not good news, CBA raises variable rates by 0.15% and ANZ raises variable rates by 0.16%. Westpac raised last week. NAB is the only Big 4 bank yet to move but I suspect, they will soon.

19.01.2022 No rate from the RBA. 30th month in a row with now change. https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2019/mr-19-11.html

18.01.2022 Big 4 not passing on yesterday's RBA rate cut in full! The list is Westpac 0.14%, CBA 0.13%, ANZ 0.12% and NAB a measly 0.10%. Lets see what the smaller lenders do but I suspect they will pass on more than the big guys. #BigFourNotFair

17.01.2022 Premium property prices in Perth are significantly up in the first 6 months of this year according to REIWA. Here is a table from a local newspaper.

17.01.2022 Here is the second part of my article on what $1,000,000 buys you in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. https://www.orangefinance.net.au/property-prices-part2/

16.01.2022 No rate rise from the RBA today but some banks have started raising their rates anyway . https://www.orangefinance.net.au/rba-interest-rate-announc/

13.01.2022 Surprising drop in WA unemployment rate to 5.5% Apparently WA has the 2nd lowest unemployment rate in Australia. I'm surprised about this. And most of the jobs created were full-time jobs and not part-time as it has been over the last 12 months.

13.01.2022 WA state budget removes the $5,000 First Home Owner Boost. That was quick!. After the last government brought in the additional $5000 for first home buyers in Dec-2016, the new government will remove it from 1-July-17. The $10,000 FHOG is still applicable for newly build homes or to build a home.

12.01.2022 Perth Vacancy Rate still low at 2.9% (REIWA)

12.01.2022 Not good news, CBA raises variable rates by 0.15% and ANZ raises variable rates by 0.16%. Westpac raised last week. NAB is the only Big 4 bank yet to move but I suspect, they will soon.

09.01.2022 No rate change from the RBA A fairly positive announcement though. I think the RBA things the economy may have turned the corner. http://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2017/mr-17-15.html

06.01.2022 Perth rental vacancy rate is now down to 2.5%. This is a reduction from 7.3% just 2 years ago. Rents are slowing starting to rise as well.

06.01.2022 Do you know which lenders passed on the full 0.25% rate cut? Some smaller lenders have announced how much of last week's RBA rate cut they are passing on. Some lenders have only passed on 0.10% while some have passed on the full 0.25%. We know which lenders have passed the full 0.25% rate cut to their customers, contact Orange Finance to find out who.

04.01.2022 RBA cash rate unchanged today. The RBA today has decided to hold interest rates unchanged at 1.00%. Not a lot of change in the commentary from last month in the note as the RBA is on pause and will reassess the effects of the last 2 rates cuts. Here is the summary of what the RBA said:... 1. Australian economy is expected to grow 2.5% over 2019 [which is above the 1.8% for 2018]. 4. Australian unemployment rate is 5.2% with a recent uptick without inroads into the spare capacity. 5. Inflation over the last 12 months only 1.6% but expected to increase to around 2% next year which is still very low. See more
