25.01.2022 As we all adapt to the 'new normal' in terms of COVID-19 restrictions and keeping everyone safe, we're now at the point where we can welcome anyone to the Orange Aquatic Centre without a booking. If you would like to lap swim, jump in for recreational swimming or do some gentle exercise, there's no need to book just come on down. We are limited to the number of people allowed in the centre at any given time so there may be times, as we head into summer, where the centre is at capacity and people may have to come back at a later time. You must sign-in using the QR codes at the door, or the paper sign-in sheet at the front desk. Please be respectful of our staff as they do their duty to keep everyone safe while swimming, but also adhere to COVID-19 safe guidelines.

22.01.2022 Help us design our mushroom fountain Our mushroom fountain located in the toddlers pool is looking a little sad, so we want the children of Orange to help us re-design it! All you need to do is click on the link below, download the file, and print off the colouring-in sheet. Go wild with all sorts of designs and colours, showing us how you think the mushroom should be painted.... Once you've finished your design, take a photo/scan it and direct message it to our Facebook page or email it to [email protected] Make sure you have a good think about your design as the mushroom is the first thing everyone sees as they enter the indoor pool. Open to ages 0-15 (Orange residents only.) A winner from each age group will be selected and receive a special prize. One design out of those three will then be chosen to be painted onto the mushroom fountain. Entries close on Sunday 7 June 2020, so get in quick Full terms & conditions can be found on downloadable colouring-in sheet. https://www.orange.nsw.gov.au//AC_Mushroom_Design_Comp_A4_

Health Brad Hazzard said this week that while indoor aquatic centres would close, outdoor pools were a question for local councils to judge whether social distancing guidelines could be satisfied. 17.01.2022 COVID-19 update re: Aquatic Centre Like all Council agencies Orange Aquatic Centre is complying with the recommendations of national and state health authoriti...es about managing the COVID-19 crisis. The situation will continue to change and you can be assured staff are reviewing our measures daily. A key factor in the health recommendations is the requirement to ban events of more than 500 people. By taking steps to make sure we stay under this number, the Aquatic Centre will continue to operate. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure our centres are healthy and safe. You can assist by agreeing not attend if you are unwell and maintaining a good level of hygiene (handwashing, covering coughs/sneezes). Staff will also place an increased emphasis on hygiene, including extra disinfection of surfaces. Learn to Swim, Aqua Aerobics and Water Polo are continuing. It is important you do not come to the Aquatic Centre if you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms. If you appear to have cold/flu like symptoms you will be asked not to participate in our pool programs. Learn to Swim parents are to keep their children home if they are showing cold or flu like symptoms and notify the centre of their absence. Water Polo and Aqua Aerobics participants are not to attend if they are showing cold or flu like symptoms. If a participant in one of these programs chooses not to attend they will be entitled to a credit for future programs. This is a situation where there will be ongoing queries. As additional information becomes available, we will aim to keep our community in touch. Here are useful resources from NSW Health: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au///coronavirus-resources.aspx

07.01.2022 Some great news today with word our outdoor 50 metre pool will re-open on Monday!! It's one small step towards returning to normal after COVID-19, but it won't be swimming as usual. We'll still have to comply with government recommendations about having only ten people in the pool at the one time, so we'll all have to be patient with this new approach. The solution for sharing the pool space for the time being is ringing up to 'book' a lane for an hour's swimming.
