25.01.2022 2020 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Warriors. Late notice but the best in the current times. AGM was scheduled for this Friday night at The Parky. With current conditions we are unable to hold it there. Hence it is now rescheduled for this Sunday 16/8 at my house at 2pm. AGM followed by quick General Meeting followed by beer and sausage sizzle watching footy from 4pm. In my shed with a fire. We can only have 20 people due to current CoVit rules. 7 of the committee are attending. So ...get your RSVP to Dave Boundy ASAP to secure a spot. Always an interesting meeting and it will be good to chat all things cricket. Yours in cricket Nick Cooper President See more

14.01.2022 ATTENTION: ORANGE CITY COACHES Please see below post from Greg McLay who will be holding a Fielding Masterclass session at Riawena Oval on Thursday 29th October. Please let Dan Brincat know if you wish to attend.... Fielding Masterclasses - Riverina and Western Zones Morning all, Each year I offer Coaching Masterclasses in our region and this season the focus will be on improving fielding standards at Club and representative level through the staging of Fielding Masterclasses. A lack of fielding prowess and skill is the most consistent skill deficiency we see across the pathway. We hope the Masterclasses will help shift thinking around fielding from being something 'tacked on to the end' of most training sessions (if time permits) to a crucial and integral component of all training sessions. The following practical Masterclasses have been booked in and will offer all coaches who attend a great insight into what an effective and progressive fielding session looks like and the types of outcomes and technical cues coaches need to strive for. I will be offering a wide range of drills and activities for coaches to takeaway, at the Fielding Masterclasses Fielding Masterclass - Dubbo (Lady Cutler Oval) Wednesday October 28 from 5:30pm Fielding Masterclass - Orange (Riawena Oval) Thursday October 29 from 5:30pm Fielding Masterclass - Griffith (Exies Oval) Thursday November 5 from 5:30pm Fielding Masterclass - Albury (Lavington Sportsground) Monday November 9 from 5:30pm Please email me at [email protected] if you wish to attend any of the above Masterclasses. I'd also appreciate your assistance in sharing this post with any interested coaches and Associations in your regions. Many thanks GMac

06.01.2022 2020/21 Playing Gear - Seniors Hello warriors, a playing gear order is not far away from going through and due to the numbers on shirts, those that maybe needing a new one and want the same number need to let me know ASAP. 06.01.2022 The Orange District Junior Cricket Association committee has made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 2021 carnivals. We acknowledge that current pub...lic health orders do not prevent the continuance of the carnivals and that playing cricket outdoors is a lower risk activity, however, continuing to host the carnivals undeniably brings about an increased risk of coronavirus entering the Orange community. We have 21 teams from Greater Sydney booked to come - possibly over 600 people from Greater Sydney. The list of compromised venues and suburbs across Sydney continues to grow each day. The effect of Christmas Day, and indeed New Years Eve is yet to be reflected in case numbers. Given that the incubation period is 14 days, with many not testing positive until day 10 or later, this impact will not be known until teams are already in Orange. Our priority must be the health of both Orange and neighbouring regional and remote communities. Orange is a major centre for shopping and social gatherings for people living in rural and remote areas of NSW. Rural and remote communities are particularly vulnerable. In light of the: 1. current spread of the coronavirus outside the Northern Beaches, 2. uncertainty regarding the extent of transmission resulting from increased social contact over Christmas, New Year 3. higher risk to rural and remote communities from the spread of the disease in regional centres like Orange, it has been decided that even the small risk associated with coronavirus entering the Orange community outweighs the opportunities of hosting the Western NSW Junior Cricket Carnivals in 2021. We understand this decision will leave many disappointed and frustrated, however, we believe this is the most responsible decision to make. We will of course provide full refunds to all teams. Thank you for your understanding. Fingers crossed for a vaccine soon so we can put the coronavirus pandemic behind us. We look forward to a return of the carnivals in January 2022.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to our u11 Gladiators winning their round one clash this afternoon by 3 runs.
