25.01.2022 The warrior two pose is beautifully grounding and has many benefits. Let’s focus on the releasing effect around the neck area especially if you tend to tilt the head. Start with following the breath into and out of the pose. Gentle breath, smooth movement, relaxed body.

22.01.2022 Well it’s really a silly question as we need both of these functions and perfect balance between them. If we look at the main joints in the body each of them has either a mobility or stability goal to accomplish. Their roles may overlap at time but in general they have a primary role to play. The stability focused joints are the foot, knee, lumbar spine, cervical spine and elbow. The mobility focused joints are the ankle, hip, thoracic spine, shoulder and wrist. Zooming on the back, the most common problems occur in the areas of stability - neck and lower back. Well let’s check how the shoulders, thoracic spine and hips move!

They tighten firstly along the spine to protect the spinal cord and CNS subconsciously. ... The superficial (top layer) fascia around the whole body tightens to protect the muscles from injuries, bruising and blood loss. The tight muscles and fascia (the glad wrap like film covering all muscles and organs in the body) affect the joints - hip and knee, spine, shoulders. Depending on our nature we tend to choose practices that focus on the body and action (karma yoga), intelligence (gnana yoga), emotions (bhakti yoga) or energies (kriya yoga). A nice story by @Sadhguru to demonstrate : ... Four people were walking in the forest. The first was a gnana yogi, the second was a karma yogi, the third was a bhakti yogi and the fourth was a kriya yogi. Usually, these four people can never be together. They can’t get along. But somehow they happened to be walking together when a storm broke out. The bhakti yogi, a devotional person, knew all the temples around and told the others to follow him into one old temple to take shelter. They ran there to escape the rain. It was a ruined temple with no walls, just roof and a deity in the middle. The storm was fierce and the rain was getting in. They didn’t have a choice but to go in the very middle and embrace the deity. Once they all touched it, God appeared. Why now? 04.01.2022 There’s no mobility, stability and above all vitality without a proper breath. Whatever aspect of your being you want to fine tune, breath awareness will get you there! Physically, breath awareness brings vitality, increased energy levels, relaxed muscles, good posture. Mentally you’ll feel more content with increased clarity and focus. Spiritually, you’ll arrive to yo...ur centre, find the present moment and space beyond thoughts and time. We have to breathe anyway so why not to notice it occasionally. Firstly, make sure that you are breathing from your abdomen, using the diaphragm. Put your hands on both sides of your abdomen so that you can feel the lower ribs as well. When you inhale feel the whole area underneath your hands expanding out. Once you settle into the breath keep watching it and follow it through the nostrils into the centre of your body. Pause briefly within the natural pause between the inhalation and exhalation. That’s where the magic lies! See more

02.01.2022 It upsets me a little, no, no, no, it actually drives me completely mad when people call massage for relaxation ‘ just a back rub’. Remedial massage needs to be ‘deep’ enough to reach beyond the muscles. Stress is normal for most of us as is decreasing quality of mental health. Chronic stress prolongs the sympathetic activation in the body which cannot be sustained for long. It’s exhausting and dangerous. And the muscles become super tense in this state! ... The body itself puts a stop to it by taking the nervous system even lower when we may appear calm but tired, lethargic and burned out. And when trying to get back up outbursts of anger are never to far away. Luckily there’s a plenty of research confirming the many benefits of massage for stress reduction and relief of anxiety and depression symptoms. I know that sometimes it’s hard to talk. Don’t. (In between is where to find the goddess).... Thomas Edison was famous for taking naps with a stone in his hand. When he fell asleep the noise of the stone falling on the floor would wake him up. That was his way to make sure that he didn’t go to a deep sleep but stayed for as long as possible ‘in between’. That’s from his inspiration and invention came from. The famous Salvador Dali has a similar routine. He napped with a key in his hand and a metal plate underneath. He called this state in between ‘the slumber with a key’. There we are between two states of consciousness and can connect to the subconscious mind. A good massage will take you there!
