22.01.2022 In light of the drought situation and the fires burning across the country, many people have called on their local councils to cancel their New Years Eve Celeb...rations. Orange is no different, with many people questioning the need for the Fireworks in such conditions. Rather than speculate, Stedo went straight to the source and asked Peter McCormack all about it. Petes candid but passionate response, and thoughtful explanations, provided some clarity on why he personally contributes to our community and why, if given the all-clear by the Rural Fire Service on the day, the fireworks will be going ahead. Heres to a wonderful 2020, everyone! McCormack Barber NYE Party Under the Stars

21.01.2022 Hi everyone. Is is with much disappointment I have decided to cancel the fireworks for New Year’s Eve. The conditions for the 31st are looking extremely dangerous and I have decided that it would be in the community’s best interest for us not to go ahead with the fireworks display. That being said, we are definitely still holding the event. I would encourage as many people to come down even just for an hour or two, as a show of solidarity for our farmers. ... All donations received will be doubled (up to $5,000) and go to drought relief. We will still have live music, jumping castles, food stalls and a great family friendly atmosphere where we can get together as a community and support our much loved farmers. If you have any questions please reply on this post or call me on my mobile, 0408 003 333. Peter McCormack

16.01.2022 Dogs hearing is four times better than human hearing and its a natural reaction for some dogs to flee and seek refuge when they hear such loud and unfamiliar sounds. In a bid to keep your pet out of harms way this New Years Eve, we have has set out some tips for pet owners to consider before going out to celebrate. FIREWORKS Ensure your pet is completely identifiable with a microchip, collar ID tag and most importantly, ensure your contact details are up-to-date. This giv...es you and your pet the best chance of being reunited in the event they become lost. Keep your pet securely contained for the entire night a fence may not be enough to keep a determined, panicking pet from escaping during fireworks. Scaling fences can also lead to serious injury for dogs. Ideally you should keep your pet inside, in a secure room where they can neither escape nor hurt themselves. It is important that you dont tie up your dog at the collar, as in a moment of panic he or she could try to get away causing serious injury. Stay home with your pet, or if this is not possible, organise a pet-sitter for the night, or have someone close at hand who can check on them if need be. That person should be reliable and familiar to your pet. When the fireworks display starts, make sure they are inside and distract your pet with toys and food and keep a radio or television switched on.

09.01.2022 GREAT family entertainment has been locked in for Oranges exciting McCormack Barber New Years Eve celebration and fireworks to be held at Waratah Sports Ground on Saturday December 31. IndigoBelle, made up of dynamic husband and wife team Pat and Kellie ODonnell are on the bill with their crowd pleasing repertoire set to entertain and really get the party going in the lead up to the spectacular fireworks. Its great to be part of a family focused and alcohol free event ag...ain this year and Kel and I are really looking forward to doing our favourite covers for the crowd, said Pat ODonnell. At this time of year it is also great it is a free event for families, he said. The duet of Kyle Manning and Matt Arthur (The Bald and the Beautiful) are also on the bill for the night, supported by gun drummer Dave Egan and the guys will rock the ground with hits of Billy Joel, Adele, Elton John and more! Both bands will then come together as The Heydays for a final set and if you havent had a chance to catch the band yet at one of the many corporate functions across the state, then you are in for a treat on the night. Kyle Manning said hes pleased local performers have been invited to be part of the big night. Its great the organisers are using locals instead of bringing in bands from Sydney it helps money to be injected back into the local economy, Mr Manning said. Entry is free with optional gold coin donation to go to Orange Health Service for the purchase of an AirVo humidified high flow nasal pronged oxygen system which is portable and simple for staff to use on patients who do not respond well to traditional oxygen treatment.
