06.02.2022 This is an old article, but still relevant to provide an overview of the 4 main times of Personal Risk Insurance. You can buy them direct from providers, just hope onto finder.com.au and compare, and pick the one you want. However, we can help by doing the calculations as to how much cover you need, what additional features, if any, you might need, access discounts for multiple policies or special offers and assist in the application process. Finally, having an adviser means that if you do need to make a claim, your adviser will do all the paperwork for you, so you can focus on your recovery. https://www.yourshare.com.au//the-different-types-of-pers/

28.01.2022 Handy article on Ethical Investing. You don't need an adviser to ensure your Super is invested in accordance with your own personal ethics and values. Have a read of this handy ABC article and have a go. In our modern world though, with pressures of work, family and social commitments, you might find it easier and simpler to make contact with me, and get it all done for you. https://www.abc.net.au//ethical-investing-how-to-/11147454

22.01.2022 Earlier this year, the Centre for Social Inclusion released this report into the levels of Financial Exclusion being faced by our First People. I think that this can also be true for many other Australians too, and it shows how vital it is to be connected and financial aware. There are also some wonderful values around money that our First Peoples hold that perhaps we could learn from as a modern society. https://www.csi.edu.au//media-release-groundbreaking-repo/

20.01.2022 Did you spend your last payrise without any long term planning? You could have been a victim of "Lifestyle Creep". https://www.news.com.au///462c37fff4749adcd9823c6594b3db4b

17.01.2022 Article from the ABC on the changes to vital insurance within your Super. https://www.abc.net.au//superannuation-changes-to/11182772

16.01.2022 This super helpful web article has a slightly clickbait name, however in the article as lots of thoughts linked back to the bible that could help a christian get a good perspective on their thinking around money and finances. If you hover over the bible links, a little box even pops up with the passage to save you opening lots of tabs. I hope this article gets you thinking. https://www.thegospelcoalition.org//5-lies-christans-tell/

11.01.2022 I was reading today that ME Bank's latest Household Financial Comfort report said that 50% of Australians have NOTHING left each week after paying for the essentials of life. 25% of households have under $1000.00 in savings, and 66% of aussies couldn't raise $3,000 within a week of an emergency. Is this you? Well, don't fear. The AFA 2019 survey reported 79.4% of people who saw an adviser had improved financial piece of mind, 54.9% were able to save more and over 60% said they were better equipped to handle one off emergency costs. I know which group of statistics I would want to be a part of...

07.01.2022 Are you a Millennial? I didn't think I was, however I realised many studies define Millennials as those born from 1981, and I just sneak in. Others, say 1983 and onwards, excluding me. Either way, Millennials are among the least likely group to have received professional advice around their finances, despite having high levels of financial insecurity. If you have worries about your long term financial security, why not have a chat. Millennials also have firm expectations about how a business should act according the the attached report. I believe that I meet a number of those expectations. Please don't hesitate to speak to me about Ethical Investing, social responsibility in business and how I reflect my personal values in business.

07.01.2022 Are you self employed? Maybe running your own small business just like me? Well, many people like us have not been paying themselves Super for years. If you don't have a current Super fund, not only are you giving up crucial retirement savings, but you also might not be covered in the event something bad happens to you. It's definitely worth thinking about how much you can save for the future. Here is a handy government fact sheet to help you think about it, and as always, I'm happy to drop by at a convenient time (even outside business hours) for a free chat. https://www.ato.gov.au//Working-out-if-/The-self-employed/

07.01.2022 Did anyone see the US president's tweet about interest rate cuts? He's said the US economy is doing really well, and the Fed should cut interest rates by 1%! Well, you might think that good economy = lower interest rates, however that's not true. Governments lower interest rates to encourage people to borrow, spend, and kick start a faltering economy. So if the President is calling for a 1% cut (typically Central Banks move by 0.25% per month) he's really saying "I'm really really worried by our economy at the moment, and we need a massive shot in the arm to get going again".

07.01.2022 When you receive your statement of advice, you often receive a list of investments that we recommend you purchase. However I reckon a lot of people don't know much about the difference between funds and why different funds are recommended. This is a basic article to explain the difference between to strategies, an "active" and a "passive" strategy. https://www.canstar.com.au/inv/active-vs-passive-investing/

06.01.2022 Health Insurance in the news today with funds cutting benefits. A number of Risk Insurers are currently offering deals on Private Health, and you can even potentially bundle Health insurance with your Life, PTD and IP cover to get a discount! Drop me a line to arrange an obligation free, no cost quote.... https://www.smh.com.au//320-a-night-to-stay-in-a-public-ho

06.01.2022 One of my happiest memories in Orange was playing for the Orange Tigers Australian Rules Football Club. In addition to meeting great blokes, and playing some of the worst football ever seen, I also did 2 injuries which took me a bunch of time off work. I broke a finger (which was actually quite funny) and smashed my knee doing cartilage damage, a fracture, torn ligaments and other fun things. Now that I am a Financial Adviser, I really wish I had known about personal risk insurance back then. I can arrange cover for injuries that would cause you to miss work that happen at Footy. Sadly, the insurance you get through the footy club is great for covering the cost of your treatment, but lost income is another thing entirely. If you are young and healthy that is the best time to consider personal risk insurance.

01.01.2022 This is a great article from a competitor sharing the story of a lady who was very lucky to have reviewed and implemented Income Protection insurance prior to needing int. If you are young, no mortgage, no kids to support, you might not need Life Insurance, however if you weren't able to work due to illness or accident, Income Protection could really save your bacon. Even better, you can pay for it through your Super! http://wealthspringfinancial.com.au/have-you-protected-you/
