25.01.2022 UPDATE ON THE FIRE ACTIVITY TO THE WEST OF LAKE BURRAGORANG: Posted at 1900 on Wednesday 4.12.2019 The 'Green Wattle Creek' fire and Kowmung fire burning furthe...r west of the Green Wattle Creek fire have now burnt approx. 38000 Ha The crews today have once again worked hard to prevent any ignitions on the eastern side of Lake Burragorang. However a small spot fire was detected late this afternoon, 1km west of Snake Mountain. Firefighter in boats and supported by aircraft are working to contain contained this fire and will continue to monitor it into tomorrow. Ground Crews also supported by aircraft and heavy plant have worked extremely hard in reducing the risk to the isolated properties surrounding the Kowmung fire. RFS and NPWS crews will still be active in all areas of the fire ground tonight, with Back Burning accruing on the Colong Stock route when it is safe to do so. This will increase the smoke that will affect the wider communities to the east of the fire. The NSWRFS has issued a Total Fire Ban with ‘Severe’ fire weather predicted for the Illawarra/Shoalhaven and Greater Sydney areas for Thursday 5 December. All residents need to ensure they stay abreast of the weather and fire condition tomorrow. The Warning Level remains at ‘Advice' for both the Green Wattle Creek and Kowmung Fires. Both fire are yet to be contained. Our message continues to be for all residents: - Monitor the conditions in your area and act if you feel threated. - Review your Bush Fire Survival Plan and ensure that all members of your family are aware of what they should do if impacted by fire. - If the situation changes decide what you will do?

24.01.2022 UPDATE ON THE FIRE ACTIVITY TO THE WEST OF LAKE BURRAGORANG: Posted at 1915 on Tuesday 3.12.2019 The 'Green Wattle Creek' fire and 'The Peaks' fire have now mer...ged and will continue to be named the 'Green Wattle Creek' fire. The fire today has remained on the western side of Lake Burragorang and every effort is being made by firefighters to prevent the fire from spotting to the east. They have been supported throughout the day by several of our aviation resources. To ensure rapid response to any outbreaks along the interface on the eastern side of the Lake a number of Strike Teams were staged at various locations. These teams were mainly from FRNSW. Due to an increase in fire activity this afternoon the Warning Level was raised to 'Watch and Act'. There have been some technical issues with the 'Fires Near Me' app today where the Incident diamond shape that denotes the location of the fire was incorrectly positioned. This issue has now been rectified. This fire remains uncontained. Our message continues to be for all residents: - Monitor the conditions in your area - Review your Bush Fire Survival Plan and ensure that all members of the family are aware of what they should do if impacted by fire - If the situation changes decide what you will do

05.01.2022 Over the last 24 hours, firefighters have utilised marine-based equipment to assist with containing the Green Wattle Creek fire burning near Warragamba Dam, sou...th west of Sydney. There was a significant operation to get these vessels on to the dam, including the use of a 100-tonne crane. The boats, which are working along side Water NSW vessels, will be used to transport firefighters in to hard to access areas of the fireground, as well as undertaking planning for potential fire spread over coming days. : Woronora Bush Fire Brigade
