18.01.2022 A recent report from @WWF has delved into #deforestationfronts, tropic and subtropic forest habitats around the world where forest cover is being lost at unsustainable rates. The study found that between 2004 and 2017 over 43 million hectares, an area roughly the size of Morocco, was lost. Check out the full report on WWF's website to learn more about deforestation fronts around the world. Deforestation is a tremendous problem for everyone. Forests are essential to our li...ves. They’re home to more than half of the world’s land-based species, and globally, over 1 billion people live in and around forests and rely on it for food, shelter and livelihoods. After oceans, forests are the largest storehouses of carbon. Agriculture is the leading driver of deforestation globally. In terms of Sumatra and Borneo, this agricultural expansion is driven primarily by palm oil. In 2016, Indonesia produced over 34.6 billion tons of palm oil, and exported nearly 73% of it. Oil palm plantations stretch across 12 million hectares, and are projected to reach 13 million by 2020. These figures seem bleak, but with knowledge brings power! Share this information with friends and family, so we can help curb demand for #palmoil and put an end to palm oil driven #deforestation. #endconflictpalmoil #enddeforestation #orangutanconservation #orangutanlovers #protectwildlife #protectourplanet #wonderfulindonesia #palmfreecertification #palmoilfreebrands #palmoilfreealternatives #palmoilfreeproducts #forestconservation #wwf #NoPalmOil #MyStepToProtect #saynotopalmoil #labelpalmoilalready #loveourworld #naturehub #deforestationfree #savetheforests See more

08.01.2022 WE ARE SO CLOSE! It has been a busy last few years! We have worked hard to grow our #palmoilfreecertification and in doing so we have been able to help encourage more business to look toward #palmoilalternatives, encourage more consumers to avoid #palmoil in their products, and support numerous #orangutanconservation organizations! One of the ways we #giveback is through our fabulous @vivalabody soap! For every bar of soap sold, at least one tree will be planted in an a...rea critical to the survival of #endangeredspecies. Purchasing this soap bar is not just a fantastic plastic free alternative, but every tree planted will also play a role in habitat #restoration. Check out our website in our bio to snag one of your own and help us reach 10,000 trees!!! This achievement wouldn't be possible without some key individuals. So we want to especially thank... @earth.offline @roxyrogan @deyaward @poi_ecostore @palmoilfreeproducts @biomestores @floraandfaunaau @kidconservationist @theorangutanproject @ecojim13 @orangutan_foundation for helping us achieve so much to date and supporting this great initiative. We also want to thank our amazing staff, great volunteers, and all of our wonderful supporters! You make all of our work possible, and we are so grateful! #certifiedpalmoilfree #palmoilfree #palmoilfreesoap #SaveThePlanet #palmoilfreeproducts #soapsofinstagram #soapbar #ClimateCrisis #PalmOilFreeBeauty #PalmOilFreeSkincare #ClimateChange #SustainableBusiness #Sustainability #PalmOilFreeCleaning #smallbusiness #GoGreen #EcoProducts #SustainableProducts #NoPlanetB #enddeforestation #VoiceForThePlanet #plantatree #forestrestoration See more

05.01.2022 The Orangutan Project has rescued yet another sweet #babyorangutan, Jainul! He was rescued by the Bornean Orangutan Rescue Alliance last month and when he arrived at the rescue centre, he had a high fever. Luckily he already is feeling better and is enjoying his new playground and jungle school. He had been kept by a local family for about a year and was mostly given the same food to eat as the family, including rice and vegetables. He's between one and two years of age, so... he must have been very small when he was taken from his mother. We're sure this sweet young boy will continue to thrive, now that he's receiving the care and rehabilitation he needs. We are so proud to partner with The Orangutan Project and provide funds to help their great work. If you'd like to help this sweet boy go to the orangutan project's page and support their work with a donation, any amount helps! #palmoilfree #certifiedpalmoilfree #palmoilfreecertification #SaveThePlanet #orangutanconservation #palmoilfreeproducts #PalmFree #Rainforests #ClimateCrisis #PalmOilFreeBeauty #PalmOilFreeSkincare #ClimateChange #PalmOilFreeCleaning #smallbusiness #rescueandrelease #PalmOilFreeFood #GoGreen #NoPlanetB #IllegalWildlifeTrade #Deforestation #VoiceForThePlanet #orangutanlove #orangutanproject #lovefornature #orangutanrescue #orangutanbaby #donatenow #rescueme #notapet
02.01.2022 Repost from Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) On Saturday 29 May 2021, a joint rescue team consisting of HOCRU and @bksda_aceh, assisted by the local community, rescued and evacuated one adult male orangutan. The orangutan, estimated 24 years old, was isolated on a community farmland. A medical check conducted by the HOCRU vet found that the orangutan’s left eye was blind, and his left elbow is dislocated. This condition requires the orangutan to be brought to PKOS @socp.of...ficial for intensive treatment. We are so proud to support Orangutan Information Centre and the amazing work they do. Donations help their efforts to support #forestrestoration, orangutan rescue, #conservation, and #wildlifeeducation. So visit their page and show your support, so they can continue #savingspecies #palmoilfree #certifiedpalmoilfree #palmoilfreecertification #SaveThePlanet #protectwildlife #palmoilfreeproducts #rescueandrelease #searchandrescue #orangutanconservation #orangutanlove #GoGreen #NoPlanetB #IllegalWildlifeTrade #enddeforestation #VoiceForThePlanet #animalrescue #mysteptoprotect See more
01.01.2022 We commend Olivia Chaffin for her determination to #sayingnotopalmoil! This amazing 14-year-old #girlscout trooper spotted #palmoil as an ingredient on the back of one of her cookie packages, but like many was initially relieved to see a green tree logo next to the words certified sustainable. As many do, she assumed that meant her cookies weren’t harming rainforests, orangutans or those harvesting the orange-red palm fruit, but upon further investigation saw the word "mixe...d" in all caps on the label. What does "mixed" mean you ask? Generally that means that "sustainable" palm oil has been blended with oils from unsustainable sources. Since her discovery she has fired letters off to the head of Girl Scouts of the USA, demanding answers about how the palm oil is sourced for the organization’s cookies, and she has started an online petition to get it removed! On another side of the world Indonesian children are forced to work in harsh conditions on palm oil plantations. Girls like Ima who lead their classes are pulled out of school so that they can help produce products for children on the other side of the world. These two young girls from two very different worlds, linked by a global industry that exploits an army of children. The U.N.’s International Labor Organization has estimated 1.5 million children between 10 and 17 years old labor in Indonesia's agricultural sector. While in neighboring Malaysia, a newly released government report estimated more than 33,000 children work in the industry there, many under hazardous conditions with nearly half of them between the ages of 5 and 11.
