You won't be surprised to hear that our favourite way to improve HRV and boost immunity is cold water therapy in our @coldtubs ice bath However, the good news is that there are also some simple things you can do at home.... COLD EXPOSURE (via a cold shower) Cold exposure increases the parasympathetic system, activates the immune system and leaves you feeling relaxed and refreshed. BREATHWORK We like to use the 4-4-4-4 method. That is, inhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds - repeat this for approximately 5 minutes. DIET Maintain a healthy scheduled diet - eating at irregular times can negatively affect HRV. HYDRATION Dehydration and drinking alcohol can both negatively impact HRV.
