20.01.2022 If anyone is looking for a great photographer Mel has done some awesome work for me. Updating your business portfolio, sporting team, or end of life event. Mel has you covered

17.01.2022 Never thought I would be giving a keynote at an event but I won't lie, it was one of my favourite moments of 2020. Thanks to Victoria Park Golf Complex for having me at thier corporate breakfast series. I am looking forward to showcasing this topic more widely this year. Success for each person is as unique to them as their fingerprints. Taking the time to define it is a major challenge in the 'busy bigger better' world we live in.... If 2020 proved anything its that many people are running at break neck speed without considering where they're going. Thanks to Dylan and his team at Video Domain for the highlights! #victoriaparkgolfcomplex #keynotespeaker

17.01.2022 Hardly surprising to see refinances going gangbusters with the awesome rates and cash back offers on the table!

15.01.2022 Health Redefined by Kristy-Bree is an Orb Partner on a mission and I'm so incredibly grateful to play a part in the work that she is doing. Her radically different approach to Mindset, Exercise, and Nutrition is helping women around the country who have struggled with weight loss for years and sometimes decades. Keep up the great work Kristy!! I know it's making a massive impact and wish you nothing but the best!!

14.01.2022 Where is your best value for effort in 2021? likely it will be a combination of all of the below. It's a worthwhile exercise to cross reference your goals and realise where your current focus is at to make sure it's aligned. #Volume - do more of the same. Nothing wrong with this, especially for those businesses starting out. Establishing a solid footprint and reputation is essential before going elsewhere. #Diversification - new products to the same customer base? New produ...cts for new customers - such as in introductory product or somewhere further down the value chain? Generally speaker the former is the more likely bet. New customers from a new product requires a brand that most businesses simply don't have. #Efficiency - in 2021 it has never been easier to capitalise on efficiencies through software and automation. A word of warning here, don't forget about your staff. Investing in their development and growth will provide the best output change and build a more positive culture #Price - often overlooked, nothing will improve your profit margin like an increase in price. When was the last time you had a price rise? Where are your competitors at? Have your COGS increased and eaten into your profit margin? Proceed with caution, don't be silly about it #planning #strategy

06.01.2022 Of many things I’ve found interesting about the #uselection2020 this has to be the biggest. Almost 50% of America didn’t vote... hard times ahead with a majority vote for Biden, a whopping support for Trump, and more than both combined, those not bothered. Or at least not bothered enough to vote. Be interesting to see how this plays out and what the flow on effects will be for Australia.

06.01.2022 Proud moment incoming #brisbanebusiness #brisbanesmallbusiness #smallbusiness

04.01.2022 Refreshed. Recharged. Ready. Being excited to come back to work for another year of madness is always a good sign I'm doing something right. I'm under no false illusions that 2021 owes me, or anyone, a great year. As always, it will be what each of us make of it mixed with a little or a lot of luck. I hope everyone who had a break is ready to rumble. And those who worked through fingers crossed there is a break in sight for you. All the best!!

04.01.2022 Lot of positives in the market update from John Bland @ordminnett this morning. Expect a lot of this will flow into positive impacts for small businesses. Interesting to see the breakdown on key events like #uselection #china #consumerspending

02.01.2022 Do you know a QLD regional business owner that could use $10,000? The Covid 19 Adaption Grant is still available for those located in regional QLD. The funding is just over 90% subscribed but is definitely still available. It is the quickest and simplest grant application process I have heard about and outcomes are now provided quite quickly. There are a range of services I provide that are eligible for funding as well as many many more that I do not including rental expens...es and equipment purchases for required safety items. If you know someone who might be eligible please tag them or share this post with them. I have included the eligibility criteria below. - have been subject to closure or otherwise highly impacted by current shutdown restrictions announced by Queensland's Chief Health Officer on 23 March 2020 - have experienced a minimum 30% decline since 23 March 2020, over a minimum 1-month period due to the onset and management of COVID-19 - employ staff and have fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying for the grant (employees must be on your payroll and does not include the business owner(s)) - have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) active as at 23 March 2020 - be registered for GST - have a Queensland headquarters - have an annual turnover over $75,000 for the 201819 or 201920 financial year, or you can provide financial records that show this will be met for recently started small businesses - have a payroll of less than $1.3 million - not be insolvent or have owners or directors that are an undischarged bankrupt.
