24.01.2022 Thank you to everyone in this community that has helped to protect us all from COVID-19 by getting tested and self-isolating when appropriate, and practising th...e familiar transmission safeguards. Heres some important information please help us spread these messages by sharing them with your neighbours, friends and family. Even if you have been tested at the pop-up clinic in Orbost, you will need to be re-tested if you develop any symptoms after being tested. If you know you were a close contact of the positive case, you must self-isolate immediately and remain self-isolated for 14 days, even if you get a negative test result. All close contacts will need to be re-tested on day 11 after contact. And for the vast majority of you that were not in close contact with the positive case, its vitally important you remain vigilant and get tested if you have any symptoms at all, even minor ones. After you get tested, you must remain in isolation until negative test results are received usually 2 4 days. If your result is positive, you must follow carefully the instructions that will be given to you. A close contact is defined by DHHS as: greater than 15 minutes face-to-face, cumulative contact; or, sharing of a closed space for more than 2 hours. Even if the Contact Tracing unit has not contacted you, it is important that if you think you were a close contact you must get tested right away then immediately self-isolate, and remain self-isolating for 14 days. The pop-up clinic will be open from 8am to 12 midday tomorrow. If you need to be tested, please call 0400 895 580. Anyone in the community that has flu-like symptoms should call the Orbost Medical Clinic on 5154 6777 to make an appointment for testing.

17.01.2022 It's R U OK?Day, a reminder that every day is a day to start a conversation that could change a life. Today we're calling on Australians to learn what to say af...ter R U OK? so they can keep the conversation going when someone says they're not OK. There's more to say after R U OK? Learn what to say when listening with an open mind Learn what to say when encouraging action Learn what to say when checking in Learn how to continue a conversation that could change a life. When we know what to say next we can help someone open up and find pathways to support long before they're in crisis. Learn what to say next and help us move closer to our vision of a world where we're all connected and are protected from suicide. Head to www.ruok.org.au/how-to-ask

16.01.2022 Members of the community that believe they were in contact with the COVID-positive person that visited the area recently are asked to be tested at the pop-up ...COVID-19 testing clinic at Lochiel Park. Previous instruction was that community members must wait until they were contacted by DHHS contact tracers. However, DHHS has since advised that given the current contact tracing caseload and the communitys familiarity with the person in question, people that were in close contact can self-present for testing. The pop-up testing clinic at Lochiel Park is open for testing from 8 a.m. 4 p.m. To avoid bottlenecks in testing at the Orbost pop-up clinic, please call ahead to schedule a time to be tested. The number to call is 0400 895 580. Anyone in the community that has flu-like symptoms should call the Orbost Medical Clinic on 5154 6777 to make an appointment for testing. We appreciate that many people in the community are feeling anxiety and concern about the spread of COVID-19. We urge you to be thoughtful, patient and vigilant. Remember the simple steps that we know are the best defence against community transmission: Practice physical distancing 1.5 meters between yourself and others Stay home unless you really need to be out and about Practice good cough and sneeze etiquette Get tested if you are unwell, and then self-isolate If you are feeling anxious, reach out to someone who can help. Beyond Blue has a Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service at 1800 512 348 Or you can contact Lifeline at 13 11 14
