24.01.2022 To all of our wonderful families, we understand this is a very difficult time and we are here with you for the next 6 weeks to provide ways to keep your children learning, creative and active during this lockdown. We are still working through information provided by the State Government as to which children we will be able to provide care for during these Stage 4 restrictions. We want to ensure that for all families whether you fall into the permitted category for care or n...ot there is no need to cancel your booking during this time. All of your children's bookings will remain in place so that once restrictions are removed their booking will still be secured. There will be no payments taken during these Stage 4 restrictions for children not attending and absences over these 6 weeks will not be counted towards your 42 allowed absences each year. We will update you with further information tomorrow so all families are aware of their situation by Thursday. Take care and we are all in this together!

21.01.2022 Naidoc Week invites everyone to embrace the true history of Australia; a history that dates back over thousands of generations. We often discuss the fact that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia's first explorers, navigators, engineers, farmers, botanists, scientists, astronomers, people to use herbal medicine, artists and people to look after the land. Don't forget to view your child's Storypark profile for more stories , links and experiences your child has been involved in over the week. This week we have acknowledged, celebrated and learnt about our diverse Country and the sacrifices that was made for us many years ago.

17.01.2022 On the 11th of November at the 11th hour the Sunstone and Orchard kinder children paused to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflicts . The children sat outside in view of the flags at our neighbouring school at half mast. We listened to the Ode, and last post and paused for a minute silence. The Orchard children made poppies for all the children out of patty pans and also cut some fresh Rosemary from our herb garden as it is a symbol of remembrance.... The Sunstone children created fields of poppies by paining the sky and grass and adding some poppies and their stems. After our service educators spoke to the children about the significance of this day and that we reflect and thank those who fought and gave their lives to make our country a safe place to live.

The Access to Childcare and Kinder (Working from Home) form is for permitted workers who are working from home and are unable to supervise their children in the course of their duties and who dont have anyone else in the household who can supervise them. Reasons for this might include the other parent also being a permitted worker or because it is a single parent household. The employee and employer are required to fill this form out. 08.01.2022 This week we are celebrating Science week and yesterday our friends from Orchard Room and moonstone joined us for a play in the Riverstone group. First, we did a dark blue colour foam, the second one was a very nice red colour; however, we didn't have enough vinegar for the second foam to rise out of the container.... After these experiments, we watched this video about the explanation of the chemical reaction we just saw and also, other experiment we could do at home. https://youtu.be/_CYgsqji_0k We had a lot of fun!

06.01.2022 Problem solving and loose part construction. A few of the boys began building a tall skyscraper with the crates recently. This is something that several of them do on a regular basis however on this particular day they had a problem. It was quite windy and as they built their tower over their heads, a gust of wind would blow up and blow the whole tower over. The boys found this frustrating after all of their efforts to stack, balance and rearrange their buildings. ... Kerrie explained that taller towers are often a bit unstable and that taller is not necessarily stronger. Kerrie suggested to them to look around and think of a way to make their tall tower stronger. They set about placing planks in position, one on each side. They stepped back and admired their "stronger tower." To find out more about our kindergarten programs please call 1300 153 332.
