03.01.2022 Last night the federal treasurer proposed that taxation rates are to be reduced and backdated to 1st July 2020. Low and middle income earners, this year, will receive tax relief of up to $2,745 for singles and up to $5,490 for dual income families as compared with 2017/18. This will be achieved through bringing forward stage two of the government’s legislated tax cuts by 2 years: The 19% threshold will be increased from $37,000 to $45,000, and... The 32.5% threshold will be increased from $90,000 to $120,000. Please note that the House of Representatives and the Senate must approve this before it becomes law.
