24.01.2022 The sweetest of Saturday mornings to you all...There is much magic being quietly woven here. We are at the precipice of bringing forward new offerings that have been foraged from all our experiences, adventures and dreadlock journeys. A project we started in its infancy over five years ago. Its feeling like we are close now... Bhumi wove all of these and crafted her own little clay bowls while we were camping at Yuraygir National Park last week.
23.01.2022 Where the wild things are We just got our first box of shampoo bars to trial. They have been handcrafted by a local artisan to our specifications and we just gave it the first trial. Still some tweaking to make...but the packaging difference is HUGE!!! The shampoo crate used to some wrapped tight in layers and layers of plastic and inside was more plastic bottles...that we had to re-wrap in bubble wrap to avoid breakage and spillage- never felt good. The bars have come in shredded newspaper in a neat little cardboard box. All is needed is a brown paper wrapping and its ready to go. But we are still also considering aluminium bottles for our original liquid shampoo so watch this space! Thank you all so much for your awesome feedback. So good to hear from you! xxx
23.01.2022 The sorrow, grief and anger falls on our hearts like hot ashen leaves and covers our vision in heavy veils of smoke. We cry sooty blackened tears and we breathe the loss that hangs dry and thick in the air. We pray that such a catastrophe can be a catalyst for change. We pray with gratitude to everyone whose working so hard to fight, support, give, share and donate.
21.01.2022 Sapote Season!!!
21.01.2022 There is no rain and our garden is dying...but there is always another way. It might not look so pretty yet but with some piping and a couple of salvaged bath tubs Stefan and his brother have made a aquaponic growing system, both verticals and horizontal. We are picking up some fish this afternoon! Watch this as it turns into a gorgeous edible garden #regenerativesolutions #aquaponics #growyourown #growyourownfood #permaculture #organicgardening #revolutionfromhome #cantkeepusdown #australia #foodisfree
20.01.2022 Hey! How are you all doing out there? We retracted like snails into our shells when the world got a little too wild. It’s been deep nature and family immersion for us. We are loving trips to our quiet beaches, horse riding, making art and cooking and gardening lots. What are you all doing and how are you holding up?
19.01.2022 A little bit of maintenance for this queen
17.01.2022 The food forest around the dread shed is so lush right now you can hardly see it for the greenery A shout out to all the homeschooling mums and dads. We hope your enjoying a little reprieve this Easter weekend. Let’s rise up on deeper connection with the earth and each other. We are wishing everyone strength and peace and health now and always
11.01.2022 We haven’t been here on social media but we are still working and open, and Stefan is still creating his flawless art and colour blending to a tea his wrists are sore and still broken...the specialists have said besides removing the broken bones and fusing his wrists there is little can be done. So he is managing his pain (pretty well) and still doing what he does...sane quality and craftsmanship, less quantity. Tis job I really wanted to share because they are so artful. She looks like a winter queen the first photo is six weeks in after a gentle touch up...the rest the day we made them. Sending so much love to you all
07.01.2022 Epic mango season! We are so incredibly grateful
06.01.2022 Beautiful Luna shining like liquid gold with her well traveled three year old dreads
06.01.2022 Beautiful folk, we have a question. We are officially SOLD OUT of our much loved shampoo! We have been so impressed by your incredible efforts in sending us back your empty bottles for refills (some of these refill bottles are now old and uuuuugly...who knows how long ago the label fell off and how much shower mould has lovingly taken its place). But its way overdue for us to make a more consolidated effort to leave dinosaurs sleeping in their oily graves and go plastic free ...for reals. Because plastic IS oil. So we are not reordering until we find a cleaner solution. We take the cleanliness and sweet scent of your dreads seriously though so we are throwing around these two options... 1. A glass bottle with an aluminium lid. This would mean its more pricey to package and post but you will get our originally fabulous shampoo that we all know and love...sans plastic. Now, we all know what broken glass in the shower can do so you'll have to be extra specially careful of slippery, shampooy hands and eyes squeezed shut- but we know you got this in the name of plastic freedom. 2. Shampoo bars. An all new product (original essential oil blend). This is a great option because; no glass necessary, doubles as a soap, easy to post and travel with and more affordable. BUT reports are bars are not as thorough a clean and you may not get as many washes from a bar as from a bottle. So which way would YOU like to go? We have some bars curing as I type and we are keen to bring you back a fantastic shampoo ASAP. So what would you prefer? Does anyone have any experience with shampoo bars that they can share? Should we change our packaging and keep on with our original shampoo? Send us your answers cause its actually keeping this momma awake at night! Love you all!
03.01.2022 We’ve definitely received a few blows in the last months...but this mama is fighting forward and soon Organic Dreadlocks will have some incredible new offerings...and hopefully with time, help and healing our old offerings will be back too
