12.01.2022 Relocated our @flowhive this morning, pretty happy with how it went, no stings although one bee did fly up my shorts yesterday and gave me one. Pretty happy with the move and blends in well next to our @grow_twc #backyarder Hoping for a bit of honey before the winter months.

11.01.2022 Yesterday was our first forage into beekeeping on our @australianorganic certified farm. Adding the super onto our @flowhive Bees really are amazing and true custodians of our environment, pollinating the crops that produce our food. Unfortunately industrial agriculture practices are having a devastating affect on bee populations and their numbers are dwindling, with recent reports showing up to a 40% reduction in numbers since 2016. By purchasing organic food, you are not only putting you and your families health first you are also supporting the bees helping sequester carbon and helping clean up the planet from the toxic and carcinogenic synthetic chemicals that are used in industrial agriculture.

06.01.2022 Basil Downy Mildew has been a problem for growers in Australia for the past few years. We have been trialing some other varieties in our @grow_twc GROWtunnel that are more resistant. The basil variety on the left of the red line is full of mildew and the basil variety on the right is showing a high level of resistance to it, despite being right next to it. Both crops are grown organically with no chemical intervention. Choosing the correct varieties for organic production is paramount. Plants really are amazing things
