22.01.2022 MARKET OPEN THIS WEEKEND 28.03.20 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: We have sought advice from the Australian, State and Local Governments about holding this food market thi...s Saturday. We have been advised to keep the food market open, as it is an essential food source for the community. Only food stalls will be trading. Our committee deliberated for some time and have put together increased measures to ensure the health and safety for customers, stall holders and our volunteers. NOTE these measures are purposely far in excess of what is in place for supermarkets and other shops; and while we realise our venue is also outside we are taking these strong measures to keep everyone safe. If you see or experience any unsafe actions, please ask a staff member (in a pink hi-viz) or volunteer for advice. THE RULES OF ENTRY (MORE STRINGENT THAN LAST WEEK) INCLUDE: All people entering the venue must enter via two roped off entry points 1. We will be asking market customers to enter the market through 1 of 2 main entry points and to sanitise their hands as they enter the market space. Our volunteers from Future Bayswater will be on hand to guide you. You cannot enter without sanitising your hands 2. We request that you do your shopping and then depart 3. Please follow the markings on the ground throughout the market to assist you with social distancing 4. Customers must not handle the fresh produce unless they intend to buy it 5. We will space our stalls out even more (than last week) to allow for more social distancing between vendors and then ultimately customers 6. Stallholders will only accept card payments (NO CASH) 7. No ‘Keep Cups’ 8. No re-usable containers 9. Furniture will not be set up at the market to discourage gathering at the market 10. We will be monitoring attendance numbers to ensure we maintain the allowable number of attendees on the site at any one time 11. All market stall holders must wear disposable gloves 12. If you are unwell, please do not attend the market 13. Those unwilling to follow the rules will be asked to leave. Please join us in taking extra steps to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus: wash your hands regularly with soap and water, avoid close contact with others (practice social distancing of 1.5m) and please stay home if you feel unwell for the safety of all market participants. We are actively following the advice of the Australian Government and the World Health Organisation with respect to public gatherings and outdoor spaces and the Coronavirus. This information is coming through almost daily and we are adjusting our procedures and decisions accordingly. We will continue to act in the best interests of the community’s health and adhere to the official health advice in this fast-changing environment. We are a small team and we can move quickly to apply the necessary health and safety measures at our growers’ market. The market is open from 8:00am to 11:30am.
