"Was fortunate enough to be apart of the Original & Mineral paint powder balayage education workshop, ran by Belinda Keeley in the morning and Abi Wales in the afternoon. Learned so much and got to try out a new vertical sectioning balayage technique on damp hair to clean out the plum red colour. Thank you so much to Tameika for being my model."

A tight cast makes a strong and defined curl ... 1st picture is the after picture 2nd picture is the completed curly hair cut (done dry) 3rd picture is the complete before picture It is important to note that with curly cuts and styling, even though not much was cut off, when the curl is re-hyrdated and styled while wet into a strong cast, the shrink is intense!!!! But not to worry, you may leave the salon while your cast is still setting but once completely dry, you can get in there, scrunch out the crunch and pull your curls into place.

11.01.2022 Shara’s Curly Journey Despite having the knowledge to cut naturally curly hair during my career, nothing compares to what you know once embracing your own natural hair shape! For years I was one of those people that just thought my wave was inconsistent, frizzy and un-kept and even though I knew I was killing my hair with constant blow drying and straightening ... My hair was thin, frizzy, dry and breaking and I was at breaking point with it, as all I have ever wanted was long healthy hair! It wasn't until Covid hit and I tried using Clever Curl that I saw the first glimpse of potential and with that, I challenged myself to let it go wavy. What a journey it has been! My hair is now the longest and healthiest it has ever been as an adult and I know how to manage it in its natural shape. This does not mean I only ever wear it natural, but it does mean that when I go to style it, with my blow dry on gentle heat, I get amazing shiny results that don't require reinforcement with a straightener. Even if people with curly hair don't wish to embrace it, hairdressers still need to treat and recommend the client products suited to nourishing that hair type and ways to style without detriment to the hair. Otherwise they will still be stuck in a vicious cycle of frizz and frying. I truly wish there was more acceptance in the professional industries for curly hair but most of all I wish there was more education on curly hair to upcoming and established hairdressers. One of the main comments I get from my Curly Crew clients is "You are the first hairdresser who has been excited by my curls". Yes, I am excited, I love it! I have the knowledge to not only cut curls and waves, but also how to make them look polished and I love sharing this with all of you. Shara x
