12.01.2022 Growing ginger is easier than growing your own hair! I know it sounds too good to be true, but seriously it can be as easy as set and forget. As spring approaches it's getting warmer and about the time to get your rhizomes (the root part of the plant that we eat) in the ground ready for the summer wet season. When it cools down next year and you notice the leaves die back, dig it up, divide the rhizomes, wash and eat. Make sure to save some in dark, cool place to grow a...gain next year. (or leave some pieces in the garden for a pleasant surprise!) There are many other tropical plants that grow easily during the hotter (and wetter) times of the year. If you'd like to find out about some more click here https://organicmotion.com.au/tropical-annual-planting-guide/ for your free Tropical Annual planting guide!! ps. ginger isn't on this list because it will typically grow and die back each year on its own if left alone. #permaculture #sustainability #homecertainty Jeffrey Slayter Kate Gray Michelle Amor #CTA Kaylie Joy Adriana Braid Pesche Bechter

11.01.2022 Virtual Workshop - join us tomorrow online for the special treat!

11.01.2022 Why would you want to attend this course? I recently got this email! "My husband and I would love to learn how to grow our own vegetables organically. I have been healing from a chronic disease (breast cancer) and radically changing my diet/lifestyle. 3yrs on I am healthier than ever and only feed my family good organic whole foods. This is expensive! Growing our own would be more economical, rewarding and we could get the kids involved. If they have grown it they are more l...ikely try a wider variety of foods giving them the best start in life- preventing them having to go through what I have." We couldn't agree more - edible organic gardens are changing peoples lives. Check out this event to grab the last few tickets now!

07.01.2022 CO-CONTRIBUTING TO A SUSTAINABLE WORLD TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING What is happening?... The Earth Care Collective (ECC) has opened a bank account for the Earth, to accumulate funds in the name of creating large scale environmental change. Through buying land, funding major sustainable community projects and working alongside heavyweight global change-makers. ECC seeks to transform the wastelands of the world into sustainable eco-cities and communities. How is it happening? Operating around a dynamic governance system based on Sociocratic principles of Transparency, Equality and Efficiency. Donated funds will never actually be spent. Instead, they will accumulate in a long term savings account gaining interest. The interest alone will be invested in purchasing property and building sustainable communities. IF EVERYONE ON EARTH DONATED $1 WE WOULD HAVE $7.8 BILLION ACCUMULATING INTEREST. $7.8 BILLION EARNING 1% INTEREST ACCUMULATES $78 MILLION PER YEAR. NOW THAT'S SOME CAPABILITY FOR CHANGE Unique aspects of this fund include: Full transparency, allowing public access to all financial records associated with the fund. Everyone can track where every dollar is being spent. Global inclusive equality, everyone has a voice and we want to hear them all. Every donation comes with a say in where the interest is being spent. The ECC celebrates the value of every individual on earth. Everyone possesses strengths and skills, only when we put those skills together can we achieve epic creation and change. The Earth Fund encourages everyone to use their voice. ECC does not have all the answers. Like life, there is no destination, it's all journey. This endeavour will forever be a work in progress and we need all the help we can get. We have compiled a list of questions we working on answering as a collective, detailing how we are going to manage such an epic undertaking. We encourage you to ask every question that pops into your head and implore you to share any input you have in answering the ones that are already there. The primary objective of Earth Fund is to take all the lessons of humanities collective history, and build a bridge into an environmentally sustainable and equitable future for everyone. Earth Fund is a collaboration creating humanities inheritance, a fund for our children and our children's children. With your donation, ECC will buy back land in the name of the Earth and reinstate humans as custodians of our most precious resources. 05.01.2022 Imagine your child asking to eat greens for dinner!!??!! After 11 yrs as a parent and Permaculture enthusiast, I’ve learnt that when children develop a close connection with their food when they can eat food straight from the plant it grows from. ... Try starting with some potted herbs at home (mint works well) and allow children to gain that connection to plants and even responsibility of caring for nature. After all, they are the ones that will inherit this world and the state of the environment so it’s up to us to teach them what we can from an early age. @organicmotionpermaculture #permaculture #changemakers Blake Tonielle Kaylie Joy Walter Leigh-Anne Simms Kimberley Evan

03.01.2022 B E E S & A N T S - We can learn a lot from watching them, living in community and working for the greater good. When we see ants and bees out in the world, we often see just one, but this belies the reality of their situation. More than any other species, ants and bees function as parts of a whole. They cannot and do not survive as individuals; they survive as members of a group, and the group's survival is the implicit goal of each individual's life. There is no concept o...f life outside the group, so even to use the word individual is somewhat misleading. Often, humans, on the other hand, strongly value individuality and often negatively associate ants and bees with a lack of independence. And yet, if we look closer at these amazing creatures, we can learn valuable lessons about how much we can achieve when we band together with others to work for a higher purpose. Most ants and bees have highly specified roles within their communities, some of which are biologically dictated, and they work within the confines of their roles without complaint, never wishing to be something other than what they are. In this way, they symbolize self-knowledge and humility. They also display selfless service as they work for the common good. In many ways, they are like the individual cells of one body, living and dying as necessary to preserve the integrity of the whole body, not to protect themselves as individuals. In this way, ants personify the ability to see beyond one's small self to one's place within the greater whole, and the ability to serve this whole selflessly. Ants and bees can inspire us to fully own what we have to offer and to put it to use in the pursuit of a goal that will benefit all of humanity, whether it be raising consciousness about the environment, feeding the hungry, or raising a happy child. Each one of us has certain talents we were born with, as well as skills we have acquired. When we apply these gifts, knowing that we are one part of a greater organism working to better the whole world, we honor and implement the wisdom of ants and bees. - Madison Taylor (Daily OM) In what way does your personal expression and work in the world benefit all?
