The trick is to make sure your dogs mental stimulation is positive, collaborative and provides ...a meaningful outlet for his natural talents. Consider these points when you are creating mentally stimulating activities for your dog: Know what youre trying to achieve in the big picture For example, if youre concerned about your dog jumping up, dont play games that reinforce jumping up Make mind games an integrated part of your daily routine For example, make your life simpler and use your time more effectively by using the daily walks to practice your on lead skills, retrieval, wait, or agility the walk in the park need not be just bounding around! Use activities and tools that support your goals. For example: a Cube is great for getting the dog to use its mind during feeding and a Kong is great for providing stimulation too, but in a slightly different way with a slightly different outcome. They provide a home for permanently disabled Owls and Birds of Prey and rehabilitate injured wildlife....
