My family & friends know how much colour means to me, in fact when I first started working as a ‘colour consultant’ years ago, many made the comment; Wow, that job title was made for you!! . So when my dear friend asked if I wanted to look after her beautiful vintage Tibetan traveling chest whilst she moved house - the ‘Hell Yes!!’ couldn’t leave my lips quick enough....in fact I think I may have shouted it in her face, haha!! ... . 12.01.2022 ITS THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!! . With only 2 days until the big man in red comes to town, we are winding up work & getting ready to celebrate!! . Here is my ‘last minute’ Christmas checklist to help you get organised & enjoy the festivities instead of feeling frazzled! ... . 1. Pre-order last minute groceries on line at your favourite supermarket; click & collect to save the checkout line up!! 2. Get your battery situation sorted! I always have a ‘Battery Box’ stocked for such occasions - but even better, invest in rechargeable batteries & a charger & do your bit for Mother Earth 3. Save time with last minute wrapping by purchasing some gift bags (paper or fabric) that can be recycled next year & take the fight of the sticky tape dispenser, out of the equation! 4. Get your Christmas Roast/Meat/Seafood out of the freezer now....defrosting in the fridge ensures no nasty bacteria will effect your Christmas feast! And NO jumping out of bed at 2am Christmas morning cause you forgot to defrost the Turkey!! 5. Set the table on Christmas Eve....give yourself the gift of a pretty table to wake up to & less to do Christmas day! 6. Buy your ice now. By picking up a bag of ice now & storing it in the home freezer, you won’t risk missing out Christmas morning! 7. Make sure you have fuelled up the car - nothing is worse than lining up at the bowser Christmas morning & paying through the nose for petrol! 8. Get your Christmas play list sorted - Dust off the Michael Buble, sign in to Spotify & get ready for some Christmas crooning! 9. Get your Christmas Day outfits sorted! Make sure they’re washed/ ironed & ready to go! No body wants to start their Christmas Day doing laundry, running around looking for their child’s missing shoe & wondering where their light up flashing reindeer ears are!! 10. 02.01.2022 WORLD RECYCLING WEEK . It’s world recycling week, so what better time than to share my new recycling ‘centre’ in my garage! . Having a place to put the items that can’t go into the yellow top bin, allows you to collect items & do 1 trip a month/bi-monthly instead of lots of little trips!! ... . We collect bottles from our neighbours, as well as our own, so we need a big tub for those in between trips to the collection centre! We also recycle our soft plastics at Coles/Woolies via REDCYCLE & Textiles via H & M....I also love to take our no longer needed items to the charity store & the GCCC recycling centre/Terracycle for all those items that we just can’t use or have broken!! . Having a recycling centre like this at home gets the items from under your feet & encourages the whole family get behind recycling!! . REDUCE . REUSE .
