24.01.2022 Today I’m working on a styleboard and some cute gifting options for an upcoming 40th Birthday. It’s got a relaxed tropical vibe to it, and then these bad boys rock up in the post from my fave Darwin shoe shop. Coincidence... I think not! ... @meandmyllama Soludos See more
23.01.2022 I’ve got that long weekend feeling... especially as I tagged on another day! We’ve got visitors in town so decided to hit the beach today and relaaaaaaax. This is when the virtual office is THE BEST office. Working from the beach, yes please! ... Hope everyone in WA enjoyed their extra day! See more
23.01.2022 I was asked to update a resume the other day. I hadn’t done one professionally before, but absolutely said YES! It ended up being a really lovely chat with the client, finding out about their history, their skills, their goals. People really struggle to talk about their successes, so I had to really work to get some of the information out of her, but it was worth it! The document turned out to be something I was really proud of, beautiful to look at and a clear and ...concise read. So now, I’m sitting at my desk reviewing my own resume. It’s interesting to look back and see everything you achieved. What’s your greatest professional achievement? I’d love to know! See more
21.01.2022 Why do I need a styleboard for my next event I hear you ask. Wait, you didn’t ask... no, I’m sure you did! Well, Ive always used styleboards for EVENTS. I breakdown the elements of the event, and then pull together images / colours / themes to help me visualise the end result. ... It helps me sell the idea to the client as it gives them a visual and it gives me something to talk to the suppliers with so everyone is on the same page. Its super useful for corporate events, especially if there are a lot of different stakeholders involved, you can use the styleboard to get client sign off from each involved party. I find them invaluable for corporate branding / VIP areas at events where there are usually some strict brand guidelines to follow. It’s equally great for private events and weddings where there is usually some emotion involved, along with some conflicting views! You can share the styleboard with family members, suppliers, etc. to make sure everyone has the same picture in their mind. . . . So, what will my styleboard look like? Another great question..!! I’ll break the event down into the seperate elements and provide a page per element, I’ll include a colour palette and some handy tips and thoughts along the way! So for a corporate event you might get; Theme Branding Printed items Promotional items Furniture Bar area Decor items & Florals Of course this is all dependant on the event and it’s needs! For a wedding you might get; Ceremony Seating Ceremony Backdrop Reception furniture Reception crockery & napery Florals Decor items Bar area Lounge area Favours Stationary Again, dependant on the individual needs. In short, you need a styleboard for your next event to - Ensure a clear picture for all elements, Which will ensure a cohesive style throughout, Which will ensure an amazing event! See more
21.01.2022 Yasss Queens!! Happy Day - lets all keep pushing ourselves, and pushing others to smash that ceiling and work towards a world where our gender doesn’t hold us back.
18.01.2022 Learning I’ve decided to use this quieter time in my business to learn, improve and create. Adobe Illustration ... Copywriting Creative Lettering I’ve even enrolled in a happiness course from Yale! There is so much negativity and uncertainty being reported, I’ve decided to take a step back from it all and concentrate on what I can control. Me. My growth. My knowledge. My mind. But hey, don’t get me wrong, we are still open for business too, so hit me up y’all! What is everyone focussing on during this crazy crazy time? See more

15.01.2022 I wonder if more companies will have a more flexible approach to working after life has returned to normal? I used to work for a company that was amazing. Their approach was ‘you work wherever suits to enable you to get the job done’ Perfect Then when I first moved to Perth I was offered a job with a fantastic company who sold themselves based on their flexible working conditions. Upon looking through the contract, those flexible conditions were 2 x WFH days a ...month, all with prior written approval from my leader in advance! Not so perfect. I wonder if our current WFH status will showcase that employees can be just as productive when sitting at their kitchen table in their sweatpants as they can in a shirt and tie in the boardroom. I know for me, I thrive in a flexible environment What does everyone else prefer: flexibility or structure? work wherever or a set desk space? work around your life or set hours? See more

09.01.2022 I took the morning off today and it was glorious! Coffee with a friend , Dolphin spotting with my children. I’ve noticed I forget to take time out when working from home. With an office job, you have your set annual leave and sick leave allocations and if you wake up one morning and need a break, you can use some leave. ... When you don’t have a leave allowance, when you work your own hours, what happens then? Well in my case, I just get on with it. Get up, do my work and carry on. But this morning I thought, bugger it I’m putting in my leave slip! How do you all handle leave now you work for yourself? Like ACTUAL leave, not working from another location! How do you take a break? See more

04.01.2022 If you can be anything, be kind. Words to live by for sure. So today is random acts of kindness day... What will everyone’s random act be? ... This morning I drove past a woman out running, and the urge to yell ‘you go girl, you are killing it’ came over me!! She smiled, but I couldn’t tell if it was a happy smile or a nervous smile because a weirdo was yelling at her!! Either way, let’s spread some kindness. See more
