22.01.2022 Hello there, If your feeling overwhelmed and anxious here’s a simple but effective breathing pattern I recommend. During intense stress we automatically switch into survival mode, and our instincts in this moment is to fight or flee. Not to think rationally.... Regain a sense of yourself by focusing on your breath. Sit comfortably in a place you find safe and relaxed. Place your right hand on your heart and your left hand on your tummy. 4-7-8 Breathing Pattern Take a deep breath in for 4 counts Hold for 7 counts Deep breath out for 8 counts Repeat 8-10 times Then breathe normally Notice the sensations in your body Imagine your exhale breath flowing out all the way from your feet It’s normal for thoughts to drift in, bring your focus back to the sensations in your body. This can be done in 10 mins but take as much time as want. Kia Ora

13.01.2022 Today we spent most the time helping another person and as a treat we found a new dog beach to play on and swim #happyplace When I stopped living in the problem and began living in the answer, the problem went away. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing or situation - some fact of my life - unacceptable to me. I can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. 11.01.2022 Mindful Breathing Breaking down why Breath has become a thing in my life. O.K there’s the obvious benefit that without breath I would be dead but let me ask have you felt nervous, been in hospital, triggered or struggled to improve body tone and flexibility while stretching? All of the above has happened for me too: When I’ve been in large gatherings and don’t know many people (I’ve felt nervous)... Felt disconnected from myself and my partner Given birth to 3 children and survived an ectopic pregnancy Acted out from toxic thinking when triggered i.e. rage road Improved strength during weight training Increased fitness during cardio training Gain better flexibility Encourage a child when upset or hurt Sometime in 2003 I had a big shift, I tuned into my body’s natural rhythm and flow and was more aware of life's magic, in particular birthing my children. My mother and her wisdom told me that if I hold on and resist during labour I would suffer during and after their births, I understood and deeply connected to the process. I felt the breathing assisted to reduce labour pains but also gave me strength to work with the contractions to deliver my bundles of joy safely quickly and zero stitches - amazing. So my point consider, 3-5 minutes on the daily, breath, connect to your body and process your thoughts and feeing’s, you have nothing to lose but so much to gain. 11.01.2022 Hey, you have the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. Trust me. Recently, I thought I’ve lived 9 lives. BTW I’m a Tiger in Chinese horoscope however, for most, life eventually throws us a major curve ball, well I've had my fair share. I was a quiet, introvert as a child, very shy and hyper-sensitive (still am really). Raised mostly by my mum and my grandfather who suffered as many do from colonisation in New Zealand and alcohol abuse. The circumstances were ha...rd but I managed the best I knew how as a child. In my teens I started to sprout, finding my girl tribe. Six teenagers mostly from broken homes, experiencing life together (except going to school lol). We taught each other how to drive a manual column change Hillman Hunter (illegally of course), smoked ciggies (most of the time) drunk alcohol and flirted with boys (at youth group of all places) we had fun and shared a true bond so it broke my heart when we moved to Australia when I was 15. To manage the move to Sydney and coming from a family, that don’t speak, don’t trust and share feelings. I ramped up the rebellion levels, dropping out of school with no career path in mind except earning enough money to move out, which I did at 17. All was going fantastic until I turned 20, unmarried and pregnant with my eldest son. Being a solo mum was intense but I took the responsibility seriously changing my life style and circle of friends, joining a Christian community where I married and grew my family with two more children. But all was not well, I had to address and stop my binge drinking lifestyle which opened the doors to 12 step recovery but closed the door to my marriage, ending in divorce. What a major fail, right. WRONG. My soul was open and exposed, it was time to start the real healing recovery and recognising the characteristics and traits that disempowered my family of origin and eventually my children. I stopped stuffing my feelings from my traumatic childhood and found the ability to feel and express my feelings (come out of denial). If I can, so can you. 03.01.2022 It’s me on our final morning walk for 2020. Adapting to the many social challenges and changes this year brought up many feelings, I’m a feelings type of woman that feels big. Over the years I been given the gift to be present and allow overwhelming feelings to surface and process minimising harm to myself (which is another story). Thank you to my spiritual warriors who open your heart and always give me the space to be me. I am deeply grateful ... Just for today I surrender and wave 2020 good-bye with mixed emotions of sadness, anger and humour. I’m looking forward to the days ahead with hope and confidence that together we will continue to trudge the road of happy destiny with kindness and non judgemental hearts.
