21.01.2022 Spirit Mask 875x690mm Medium - Gouache

11.01.2022 Papua New Guinea is a world renowned treasure house of superb traditional arts and crafts made from wood, bone, shell, clay, fibres, earthen paints, waxes, oils, fur, pottery and feathers. The sheer artistic diversity is merging with the Sepik River now being the largest repository. Many other areas also produce art. Gogodala, Trobrian Islands, Siassi, New Ireland, Fly River, Gulf, Kombe and Telefomin, are only a few. It is due to this motivating, expressive fine traditional... treasures that I chose to conduct my creative research in the Sepik, Enga, Highlands, Morobe Provinces and the National Capital District of Papua New Guinea in 1996 and have in the course of time resulted in the form of painted art works. This group of paintings are really a first step inspiration which I intend to develop even further and create a much more contemporary art work collections full of variety, composition, colour, texture, different materials, techniques and mediums.
