07.01.2022 The Deadlift: One of the best/hardest compound strength exercises Technique tips: Stand with feet just inside hip width 1-2inches away from the bar ... Take a nice even grip just outside shoulder width Push your shins to the bar (without moving the bar) and push your knees out towards your elbows (without bending your arms) Take a big breath and brace your abs like someone is going to punch you in the stomach Straighten your back by squeezing your chest up and sticking your ass out without dropping your hips or moving the bar (Push the floor away) and stand up dead straight squeezing your glutes and bracing your abs Obviously there is a lot more to it but these are some basic technique tips. For more in depth instructions or technique check ups send us a msg to come in for a session. Get after it

01.01.2022 A good program can have a big influence on your training progress. If you've been doing the same routine for a while and aren't making much progress, or if you dont know where to start to with what you are working towards or if you aren't sure how to organise your weeks training plan, I'd highly recommend getting a program written up. If you're interested feel free to send us a msg so we can help, Or if you want to read more about programming benefits I wrote a mini blog whic...h you can read on our website on the blog page here: https://www.originalgym.com.au/fitness/programming/ #getafterit

01.01.2022 PROGRESS: After being very sick at the end of last year, losing around 13kg in a few weeks from an appendix rupture/leak, I dropped down to 75kgs bodyweight. This first video was on the 15/02/20 And the second on ... 25/11/20 So 9 months difference, now weighing just over 90kgs. It was hard and discouraging getting back to the gym after losing that much weight and strength and seemed like I was going backwards for a while but I stuck at it, again... and now this year I've been the strongest / heaviest I have ever been, hitting a 200kg Squat and 240kg Deadlift. So if there's any encouragement or motivation I can give you from this without being too lame, I'd say just keep being consistent and chasing what you're determined to accomplish , whether it be in the gym or elsewhere in life. And don't let the failures/ hiccups keep you down, get after it. See more
