21.01.2022 Clean and simple everyday shoeing

17.01.2022 Toe Clip Thursday! It amazing what time and persistence can achieve with horses feet. Around a year ago when I took this particular horse on. He had little to no vertical depth, crushed heels, weak quarters, seedy toe and suffered from intermittent soundness issues because of it. But with regular shoeing and a super diligent owner. He is now sound as a bell, has strong/contained hoof capsules and provides me with a lot less anxiety when I look at his feet

17.01.2022 A young event horse, you can always appreciate a nice footed horse!

12.01.2022 Since moving to Melbourne, I haven't done any posts so I thought I better get on it and post some recent work! This is a horse I did today for the first time. Has been in graduated pads and side clipped fronts for some time. So thought we'd change him up a bit and take it back to basics as his feet are so healthy and strong!

10.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just wanted to give you all a heads up with my plans for the fast approaching Christmas/New Years holiday period. I'll be heading back to NZ from the 20th December to the 5th January. ... We've been flat out heading up to the end of the year, so if your needing your horses done before I leave. Please send me a message or give me a call to book in as there's only a few spots remaining in 2019. If I don't see you before I leave, I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you so much to all my clients for their support! It's been a massive 6 months in Melbourne and am looking forward to some even bigger plans in 2020!

08.01.2022 Had these little troopers helping me at the first job this morning! Always makes it go quick when I got the chief nail choosers on the job

07.01.2022 While making a few shoes today, decided to make a new fire poker considering the weather doesn’t seem to be getting any warmer

06.01.2022 Show jumper coming in for a new set after been turned out for awhile. Definitely going to need those stud holes in this mud!

05.01.2022 A young racehorse that I did a while ago, that came in barefoot with a large horizontal split from a past abscess. Here’s the progression over 3 shoeing’s, amazing what you can achieve with patience and a bit of time.

03.01.2022 A few shots from last week, doing a couple of event horses keeping it simple and functional!

02.01.2022 There is nothing more satisfying than a newly shod horse!

02.01.2022 Over the last few nights after work, me and my dad have been making a few fire pokers for one of my super clients to give as Christmas presents!! Always fun to do something a bit different in between the made hours of shoeing horses at the moment

02.01.2022 An eventer from a few weeks ago. When I first started this horse he had the classic thin walled, thin soled, prolapsed thoroughbred foot that people so readily see. The owners always had abscesses throughout the winter and soundness problems during the season. I took him back to basics and focused on preserving the little foot we did have and applied a lighter/wider profiled shoe that had proper toe shape and quarter placement that corresponded with the true shape of his foo...t, rather than the over shadowing hindrance of distortion. From the hard to nail up, shallow footed horse we started with. To the strongly nailed up and bold footed horse today. These are the sort of jobs that show me why I love this job and what gives me that satisfaction going home every night!
