03.01.2022 30 YEARS PRODUCTION OF AUSTRALIAN TUBULAR STEEL AT SALISBURY Originally formed as Welded Tube Mills with less than 10 employees in 1989, now operating with more than 150 on site at Salisbury. We produced 10,000 tonnes in that first year - now achieving more than 150,000 tubular tonnes per annum. The site was originally the old Comm Engineering business. It’s one of the few sites in Brisbane that has a private train spur line - enabling direct coil delivery from Port Kembla vi...a train to the production site. The amount of tube produced from start up to now, if put end to end would reach to the moon and back! The Salisbury Mill renamed Orrcon Steel, was purchased by BlueScope from Hills Industries in 2014. There are a number of employees in the start up phase still part of the ongoing development of this manufacturing business. At Orrcon Steel we are committed to producing quality Australian made steel.
