We know it was some time ago however our Council has been recognised for our efforts in the Despite the Dust Muster in winning the Minister for Health and Well-Being Excellence in Public Health Award (Regional). Mayor Kathie Bowman and CEO Dylan Strong accepted the Minister’s award on Council’s behalf at the LGA AGM yesterday. The award is a credit to the groups and volunteers of our community who continue to show how resilient we are in managing adversity again and again. It is also a credit to you all. Without your commitment to get in and get the job done, events like Despite the Dust couldn’t and wouldn’t happen. Thank you Congratulations also to Northern Passenger Transport for their Commendation Award in the same category!

Harold served in WW1 and must have become friend...s with my husband’s grandfather, as we have one of Harold’s medals I would like to return to his family. Likewise, I am looking for any relatives of Raymond David Richmond for the same reason. My research has only found his mother’s name, but I believe he may have had siblings. Anyone able to help? Whilst it was disappointing not to be able to have the Orroroo Half Marathon in March 2020, we do hope to be able to host the event in 2021. All of our sponsors have kindly held over their support for the next event and many of our regular participants have held over registrations too, and we thank you all for your trust and support in our organisation. WE ARE PLANNING THE 2021 ORROROO HALF MARATHON FOR THE 28 MARCH 2021. We are aware that info may still be out there that w...e are still operating and we can do nothing to clear old advertising even though we have tried. The signage does not indicate that we are an operating business just a property name. Again this weekend we have had people driving up believing we are open. This is private property now. Household waste will continue to be collected on each Monday however recycling will be collected Thursday each fortnight. To assist with the change, there will be an additional recycle pick up on Thursday 19 November 2020.
