24.01.2022 Hi all, Good news/bad news situation in relation to the reopening of the gym. It's a long post, keep on reading! Good news is - Pilates and Circuit classes are ...back as of Monday 8th June. (see details below) Bad news is, as we are an unsupervised, community gym, we can't open up for individual training / use of equipment as we are unable to maintain our duty of care to you, our members. We cannot feasibly 'police' the use and cleaning of the gym and its equipment at all times, so for now, it's supervised group fitness classes only. On a related note, we are still unable to run boxing for the moment due to social distancing constraints, but I will add an extra circuit class. Of course, the stages and rules are constantly changing so please keep an eye out on here for updates as to when more normal use can occur. Who knows, in a fortnight we may be allowed very different things. Back to the good news! Group fitness classes will be held in the town hall for the time being, to allow us to adhere to social distancing rules, including the rule that states we can currently only have 10 people in our space. This will mean that we need to work on a booking system for all classes. For now there will be no 'drop ins'. For Pilates (still Monday 5.30, Wed 5.30 and Friday 9.15am) please call Kay on 86581261 to book your place. For circuit (Tues 5.30pm and Thurs 6pm) let me know on here or on 0427869494. The front door will be locked to prevent people from accessing the gym proper, please enter via the town hall door. From there, you can sign in as normal and get your equipment for the class. Participants will be expected to wipe down their chosen equipment before use, also, if you have your own mat, you are encouraged to bring it for personal hygiene reasons. If you have any other queries, feel free to pop in to the hardware store to ask Mel and Andrea or shoot me a mesage on here. Hopefully we can get back to the 'proper' normal very soon.
