23.01.2022 Orroroo Health Service Centenary Celebration Community Event of the Year Orroroo Health Service celebrated their Centenary on 5 April 2019. It was a very ...successful day, despite the wind and dust and well attended by past and present employees and doctors and community members. People from across Australia returned to Orroroo to reminisce about their time in Orroroo and connection to the hospital and health service. Approximately 100 people had a ‘Walk through of the Hospital’ observing the many changes and renovations over the years. This was followed by a light lunch at the Golf Club for past and present staff members, Board members and invited guests, catered by the Orroroo Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. An Official Celebration was held at the Orroroo Town Hall which included the unveiling of a painting of the original Hospital by Ross (Bud) Stephenson from Black Rock. 200 people attended and enjoyed afternoon tea and a comprehensive display of photos and memorabilia over the last 100 years in the Town Hall.

06.01.2022 W I N N E R This past year has tested our mettle in many ways. That’s why it’s so important to stop and reflect on our achievements. ... We know it was some time ago however our Council has been recognised for our efforts in the Despite the Dust Muster in winning the Minister for Health and Well-Being Excellence in Public Health Award (Regional). Mayor Kathie Bowman and CEO Dylan Strong accepted the Minister’s award on Council’s behalf at the LGA AGM yesterday. The award is a credit to the groups and volunteers of our community who continue to show how resilient we are in managing adversity again and again. It is also a credit to you all. Without your commitment to get in and get the job done, events like Despite the Dust couldn’t and wouldn’t happen. Thank you Congratulations also to Northern Passenger Transport for their Commendation Award in the same category!
