24.01.2022 Following on from our previous (exciting) post we need to add further details specifically for parents considering our entry level DOLPHINS group for their child. Please note that for the safety of your children and their coach(s) this group is STRICTLY limited to 10 children. First in best dressed! **Each child must be at least 5 years old by 1st November 2020. ... **Each child must be confident to put their head under water. **Each child must be able to get them selves safely back to the edge of the pool if (for example) they accidentally fell in without the use of floatation devices. **Each child (or children if siblings) must have a responsible adult poolside with them for the entirety of their session (40 minutes). We thank you sincerely for your understanding.
22.01.2022 UPDATE: Cancelled due to low numbers . Entries close 8th January 2021. More details including registrations found on SwimCentral!
18.01.2022 We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes getting a lot of paperwork signed sealed & delivered for the upcoming season (assuming of course there IS one) - BUT - once again we find ourselves in desperate need for some new coaches!! All Coaches and Clubs are reminded that it is a requirement of SwimmingSA that all Coaches that work within our clubs are currently accredited to the qualification level relevant to the swimmers they are coaching. For more details & Course/Workshop...s dates visit the SwimmingSA website PLEASE consider volunteering your time to train, and coach, one of our 4 groups! We currently offer Jnr Dolphins (aged 5+), Jnr Intermediates (approx. aged 8+), Snr Intermediates (approx. aged 12+) and Seniors. The club will cover the cost of your training - in exchange for a 2 year commitment to coaching and being present for more than 50% of the trainings. At this stage, the 2 Jnr groups are the most in jeopardy. PLEASE direct any enquires to our committee members: Shane, Di, Megan, Danielle and Anna. https://sa.swimming.org.au//coac/upcoming-coaching-courses

10.01.2022 Despite a chill factor of "flipping heck its cold" we had a great turn out tonight for our first training sessions!! Well, let's say a great turn out for the Dolphins & Inters .... a little more sluggish for the Seniors.... but I'm sure that will improve with the weather. Welcome to the 2019/2020 season everyone! 08.01.2022 Could members of the Orroroo/Carrieton District community please help us out greatly by completing this short, anonymous survey to help improve our club for future swimming families? The survey statement is: "I'm not a member of the Orroroo Swimming Club because...." and we welcome EVERYONE to participate irrespective of your age or swimming ability. Thank you!!... Megan. 05.01.2022 HOORAY!!! We can officially announce there WILL be a swimming club season this year!! We will have a few ‘Covid related’ changes to how things are normally run at trainings and carnivals but hopefully things will go by without too much of a hitch. NEW SWIMMERS WELCOME!!! ... The first Carnival night for the season will be on Friday 27th of November at the Gladstone Swimming Pool. Therefore things are now happening very quickly!! And from 6pm for the Intermediates and Seniors. If you are keen to join us for the first time, or keen to re-join for another great year but have questions - please seek out a committee member (Shane & Anna Hooper, Danielle Gillies & Megan Goehring).
