18.01.2022 DEEP BITE: an excessive overlap of the upper front teeth over the lower front teeth when completely biting down a.k.a. an overbite. Here is a great example of how both a patient’s alignment and overbite has been corrected through orthodontic treatment. Beyond aesthetics, there are a few key problems that occur when a patient has a deep bite including: 1. Loss of tooth structure esp. if the patient is clenching or grinding 2. Painful sores or ulcerations if the patient is ...biting on the roof of their mouth 3. Strain or pain occurring at the jaw joints. 12.01.2022 This is super common question, especially for our new braces patients! The coloured (or clear) elastic is used to hold the wires into the slots of the braces. At each appointment, we need to remove your old elastics and replace them with new ones. This means, you get to pick a new colour at every adjustment appointment! We love seeing all the creative colour ideas our patients have & it’s such a fun part of having braces! (Speaking of which... We’ve been getting plenty of requests for red & green lately! )
