Dr Stephen Vincent will be speaking on Higher Order Aberrations in Myopia Control.... To register your interest in our exclusive webinar, please send an email to [email protected] Stephen Vincent is an Associate Professor in the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the Queensland University of Technology. He is an associate editor for Contact Lens and Anterior Eye and Clinical and Experimental Optometry and holds fellowships of the American Academy of Optometry, the Australian College of Optometry, the British Contact Lens Association, the Scleral Lens Education Society, and the Higher Education Academy. Steve’s research interests include the visual optics of contact lenses and refractive error development. He has published over 100 scientific papers on these topics.

09.01.2022 Let us introduce our second speaker for the OSO Halloween Webinar - on 31st October 2020 - Dr Pauline Kang will be speaking on customising myopia control to choose the right treatment for your patient. To register your interest to attend, please email your name to [email protected] ... Pauline is a Lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, UNSW. Her research focuses on optical strategies of myopia control. In particular, she has been exploring optical changes induced by various types of contact lenses to better understand how different contact lenses induce myopia control effects. Pauline's research has extended to explore changes in visual function, binocularity and accommodation with contact lenses used for myopia control with the aim of improving efficacy of current myopia control devices. Pauline coordinates the Myopia Clinic at the UNSW Optometry Clinic, to not only provide a clinic dedicated to myopia management, but to teach undergraduate Optometry and Vision Science students current evidence-based management of progressive myopia.

We have lined up three brilliant speakers for the evening: Associate Professor Stephen Vincent of QUT, Dr Pauline Kang of UNSW and Dr Kathleen Watt of UNSW. Steve will discuss the emerging evidence of the importance of higher order aberrations for myopia control, and ask whether aberrations may play a greater role than peripheral myopic def...ocus. Kath will be discussing the latest research on the safety of orthokeratology and how safe is OK as a method for myopia control. Pauline will be speaking on customising myopia control, and guiding us to consider which method is best for which patient. Come join us for this night where these big questions will be answered.
