18.01.2022 Setting up for an intra-osseous (bone) injection with the patient’s own cells to treat his knee osteoarthritis. 13.01.2022 New rotator cuff tear stem cell research!! My colleagues at Regenexx have just published a high level randomized control trial on 25 patients. These patients were randomized to receive bone marrow derived stem cells injected into partial and full thickness rotator cuff tears OR physiotherapy. Patients in the stem cell group showed a stark improvement in pain and function compared to the physiotherapy group. In fact, patients reported a mean improvement of 89% at 24 months ...post stem cell procedure. MRI images also showed a decrease in the size of rotator cuff tears. 02.01.2022 An important study if you take NSAIDs for osteoarthritis. ‘Negative clinical outcomes after initiation of an oral NSAID that were associated with GI conditions increased by 393%, driven by a 667% increase in acute GI hemorrhage. Iron deficiency anemia also increased by 400%. Furthermore, negative clinical outcomes linked to cardiovascular events increased by 74%, largely due to a 600% increase in acute myocardial infarction. Hypertension increased by 74%....
