21.01.2022 Orton Gillingham is the best practice approach for children learning to read.
06.01.2022 I am a teacher who believes all children and adults can learn to read and write with assistance. I have a particular interest in students with dyslexia or other learning difficulties. The first step is to understand why a person is having difficulties. No one program fits all and I will adjust my program accordingly. My approach is based on the Orton Gillingham method which is the best approach for teaching students with reading difficulties. The Orton Gillingham approach is based on multisensory learning. This involves the use of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic-tactile pathways simultaneously to enhance memory and learning of written language. Links are consistently made between the visual (language we see), auditory (language we hear), and kinesthetic-tactile (language symbols we feel) pathways in learning to read and spell.
