21.01.2022 Here at Osborne Images and like a lot of businesses globally, our work priorities have changed in the past few weeks as bookings have been postponed or cancelled. With the support of clients and a few long hours, recently weve grown from 1 to 4 employees and many trusted contractors. With this comes responsibilities that we dont take lightly. Were here to help and happy to give advice, knowledge or ideas. As many businesses transition to more digital / online where possib...le, this may present challenges or raise questions that we are happy to help with wherever possible. Here are a few thoughts that might work to keep your business ticking over that are relevant to many industries and small businesses including our own: - Do you have a marketing plan? Given current predictions, is that still relevant or does it require tweaking? There is every chance that people will consume more media than usual over the next few months, so think about how you may need to update your existing plans. Launching or promoting a new non-essential product or service at a time like this might get a bit lost for instance. - Update your website. There are a lot of simple template options that are intuitive for even the layman to pick up. Flick us a message if you want some recommendations on platforms or need any photo retouching, processing or video editing done. Just dont look at our website, thats exactly what well be doing! - Could this be a good time to start something like a podcast or some simple explainer videos? Creating both of these can be accomplished with little to no equipment. What do your customers or potential customers want to learn from you or know about you? We have more photography, videography and audio equipment a try studio than you can poke a stick at so let us know if we can help. - What can you do to educate yourself or your employees during this time? There are a lot of free recourses and tutorials online. This link has some fantastic courses that could be of use to you or your employees - https://www.freecodecamp.org//here-are-380-ivy-league-cou/ - Spec work is a great way to keep your skills sharp and test ideas and keep equipment working. If youre going to do spec work, why not chat to your existing clients and see what they might like you to trial. Alternatively, what local business could benefit from this spec work? - What can you do to set yourself and your business up to rebound as best as possible? - Take time off if you can! Spend it with your family, get back to nature, keep healthy, write something, building something, fix something, drink something! Its "business as unusual" in at the studio and weve got plans in place to continue work wherever possible as long as its safe for us and the team to do. Stay safe, take advice from professionals in their field and try and look at the positives wherever possible. Cheers, Matt & Mitch

18.01.2022 When life gives you lemons, make some bloody lemonade! Today in the studio we setup and problem solved a complete live stream interactive review tool for our clients. This means we can offer our normal high end product photography to clients, but they can now watch the entire process on the fly!... We can switch between a live studio camera, live view of the camera taking photos and also hear us taking you through the process while you provide feedback. Need some product photography done? All you have to do is send us your product and well do the rest while you watch from the couch. Well be doing a live demo soon so keep an eye out!

17.01.2022 When the light is good & the drive home takes just a bit longer

15.01.2022 As Tasmanians, weve always punched above our weight. While the current crisis has physically distanced us, its pulled us all together in every other way. To help businesses move forward, weve partnered with some trusted local suppliers to assist with the planning, execution, promotion and the logistics of getting you in front of customers during this time.... This could be for: - Setting up and promoting your services online. - Producing a marketing and social media plan. - Creating a new product and launching into market. - Producing content for promotional purposes. - Assisting with supply chain and logistics. The Tasmanian Government had released a number of grants that can help you keep your business running. The business continuity grant for example supports those looking to immediately plan and pivot their product or offering as a result of Covid-19. https://www.business.tas.gov.au/covid-19_business_support_p "To assist small business fight the economic impact of COVID-19 and prepare the foundation to set Tasmania up for a rapid recovery when the situation eases, one-off grants of up to $750 are available through the Business Continuity Grant. Could yours or a friends business benefit from some assistance? Were here to help you through the process.

13.01.2022 Has your business switched production or pivoted direction to help combat Covid-19? Our mates at Lark Distillery have done just that, so we were happy to take some product shots of their new hand sanitiser available from the Davey Street cellar door. Were here and ready to help with your photography, videography and promotional material needs.

12.01.2022 Big congratulations to Mark Acheson who jets off overseas next week onto new adventures. It was a pleasure to work with you at Blundstone Australia, and equally as much a pleasure to capture this profile video for the University of Tasmania recently. All the best mate!... https://www.utas.edu.au//984-how-studying-business-can-ta/

12.01.2022 We dig making products, people and places look amazing. Given the current state of play and live stream video really taking off, a hidden benefit has been giving our clients & agency partners live feeds of the content we capture for them. This gives the ability to remotely direct and means no surprises in the final delivery of the video or photos. Win win!... With years experience shooting in studios across the globe, were always looking at new ways to capture better and more streamlined content for our clients.

01.01.2022 Another day shooting on the lakes today These were from a recent shoot at the epic Penstock Lagoon.

01.01.2022 There are so many positives to take out what is happening right now. On the flip side, there are also many more negatives. It makes us proud to be Tasmanian when you see businesses in particular who didnt legally need to take drastic measures, but they morally did anyway. Valuing people over profit. As a part of the Tasmanian creative services industry, we look forward to sharing advice, tech support, sharing resources (No touching!) and being ready to pick up the phone and ...check in on each other. Were in for a bumpy road, but we can get through this together. From a studio perspective, we are operating under strict conditions. A few things weve introduced: - No non essential visitors. Any approvals will be managed either via a live stream or standard remote image approval process. - Weve split the workforce with half generally working from the studio and half working from home. - Doors will be locked - If you are dropping off products well give you a secure location to do so. We require you to sanitise anything being dropped off. - If you are picking product up, well sanitise our end and give you the secure location. - Off site shoots will only be accepted based on the conditions at the location. If were not comfortable, we wont be doing it. Were taking this seriously and we only want to work with those who equally are. With a lot of businesses making a transition to more digital communication, weve had a lot of questions around live streaming and quick turn around video production. We have secured a flexible and easy to use system that will allow multiple cameras and lots of creative possibilities. If you or your business are seeking a live stream solution then please get in touch as wed like to help wherever possible. Here is a link for anyone interested and well be running tests once it arrives -https://proav.roland.com/global/products/vr-1hd/ We wish everyone the best with their own transition, and please get in touch if we can help in any way. Even if its just to lend an ear. Matt Osborne - 0408 659 998 Mitch Osborne - 0478 177 720
