18.01.2022 ANI continues to work with it’s specialist equipment suppliers on the training of future frigate workforce personnel from ASC Shipbuilding in preparation for the progression of the HCFP prototype phase works commencing in December 2020. These images are of training on the profile cutting line and of robotic welding gantries in the new fabrication hall at Osborne.

17.01.2022 Training in the operation of the new state-of-the-art equipment installed in the Steel Fabrication Hall at Osborne Naval Shipyard's new southern yard is well underway, and pictured here we see a group being trained on the new plasma cutting equipment. Set to work / Training Mode has also been initiated on the new robotic welding gantries, also pictured here. Over the past decade, robotic welding has been one of the most increased industrial applications in manufacturing, and this capability at the yard will provide greater flexibility and a higher level of productivity for the welding requirements of future shipbuilding programs.

16.01.2022 In the October issue of our community newsletter, The Morse, we feature a visit by local and regional indigenous students of the Clontarf Foundation who spoke with Laing O'Rourke, ANI, BAE Systems Australia and CDRE Steve Tiffen about the many different jobs at the ONS as part of the infrastructure construction teams and in the construction of Australian naval vessels. We also showcase the indigenous and graphic artwork incorporated into the new Osborne South shipyard, discuss a visit by the MV John Duigan, and provide updates on the expansion and modernisation of the ONS. http://ow.ly/Dsh850C2m2F

15.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be As the owners and developers of the Osborne Naval Shipyard, ANI was keen to pay homage to the traditional custodians and history of the land on which the shipyard stands. We felt the best way to do this was through art. Working with Ochre Dawn Creative Industries and indigenous artist Elizabeth Close Arts, Elizabeth developed a piece that is site responsive to the natural environment around the shipyard today, and acknowledges its existence prior to... European occupation and the relationship that Aboriginal people have with country and waterways more broadly. The artwork is displayed in various forms around the new Osborne south yard, and will be incorporated into existing facilities as modernisation works continue. Here Elizabeth talks about the inspiration behind her artwork..... #NAIDOC2020 https://vimeo.com/477499760 See more

13.01.2022 Our Operations Team has been kept busy at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, with both the MV John Duigan and Sealink's Sealion docked for repairs. The common user facility - CUF - is used by some commercial operators for vessel repairs when not in use for the docking of naval vessels.

11.01.2022 When developing concepts for artwork to be incorporated at the shipyard, we wanted it to reflect the environment around the yard - the land, the sky, the water, the fauna. There was no better way to do this than through indigenous art. Several indigenous artists and illustrators worked on the project, and along with the fire tanks and safety decals, the canteen has been adorned with illustrations of fauna significant to the indigenous peoples of the area. Kaurna words have also been incorporated to help teach and embed some indigenous language within the shipyard's workforce. #NAIDOC2020 https://vimeo.com/478472831 Ochre Dawn Creative Industries Elizabeth Close Arts
