22.01.2022 This is the sort of thing that has happened as a consequence of what we did in 2011.

20.01.2022 It's moving forward!

19.01.2022 This kind of story heartens us greatly. As long as there are passionate individuals willing to innovate, film will never disappear. http://petapixel.com//this-guy-built-his-own-automatic-fi/

18.01.2022 This is an amalgam of two photos taken exactly 100 years apart in Vignacourt, Somme, Northern France. Scans of glass plate original by Oscans Imaging. 11:00 am, 11 November 1918 by Louis Thuillier 11:00 am, 11 November 2018 by Otto Mellar

17.01.2022 This needs closer investigation. You would still need to do the actual backup and careful storage.

15.01.2022 Oscans has again been honoured with having our work on public display.

14.01.2022 Our PM likes the Thuillier images. Credit for this montage goes to the Australian Army.

12.01.2022 This is the ongoing saga of the Lost Diggers project, for which we scanned about 4,000 glass plate negatives from WWI, found in Vignacourt France.

12.01.2022 Intriguing indeed.

08.01.2022 Tomorrow the 3rd July at 4.45pm (French time) a wonderful event will take place in Vignacourt in France. The Minister for Veteran Affairs will officially open t...he Thuillier Museum commemorating and providing a living and lasting legacy for the amazing Lost Diggers of Vignacourt Collection. 07.01.2022 Total loss at the Natural Museum of India due to fire on 26 April 2016. I wonder if their archives had been digitised in time? https://en.wikipedia.org//National_Museum_of_Natural_Histo

05.01.2022 Remember a year ago when the National Park Service announced they were hiring for the position of large format photographer? It was exciting news and many of u...s harbored secret hopes of getting the gig. In case you are interested to learn more about the photographer who was hired for the position this short story and interview with Jarob Ortiz is a good introduction. There are several nuggets of interesting or useful information in his answers. Even more heartening is the reminder of the importance of the tangible and archival nature of film photography in a world that has in some ways become much more ephemeral. Good luck and congratulations Jarob! https://petapixel.com//jarob-ortiz-next-ansel-adams-natio/

05.01.2022 A new/old film enters/re-enters the market.

04.01.2022 Interesting historic page of old Sydney photos. https://web.facebook.com/groups/312684935495543/?ref=notif¬if_t=group_r2j_approved

04.01.2022 Quite amazing. The streets scenes were mainly created by asking everyone to stand still.

04.01.2022 At Oscans we keep pushing back the age of the oldest thing we have scanned. We are getting photos from the late-1800s or 130 years old, but today we scanned some University owned scriptures that are 1800 years old, from around AD 200!
