24.01.2022 Practice makes perfect. Strength Training is no exception. Jeremy has been following individual training with me for a while and here he is practicing a One Arm Chinup Strength pattern. For a FREE consultation email [email protected] ... A few important notes when practicing your own strength: 1) "Enjoy yourself, do not kill yourself" ~ Pavel. Keep the reps clean, do not train to failure. Are you practicing being strong? Or practicing failing reps? 2) Do as much volume (Reps x Sets x sessions) as possible. Volume is the foundation variable that catalyses adaptation within the body. Are you practicing enough to create changes? 3) Rest ENOUGH between repeating movements. Are you practicing Strength... or Conditioning? Pure strength work demands you rest at least 5mins between sets in order to maintain CLEAN EXECUTION for the high VOLUME. This rest period can be used to train complimentary kinetic chains, perform mobility work, improve your tissue quality (rehab/prehab) etc. #whatdoyouwant #practiceit #principles
23.01.2022 BODYBUILDING AND MOVEMENT: Muscular size is an indication of inefficiency. The smaller person who can lift the same as the heavier person in my books is the more efficient lifter.... Size is trained and developed using a high volume of inefficient movements (Isolation exercises, machines etc) And eating a high volume of inefficient foods (Low in MICROnutrients like vitamins, minerals etc and high in MACROnutrients like protein, carbs and fat) The dominant limitation in bodybuilding is the degradation of tissue quality. By supplementing your bodybuilding practices with EFFICIENT movement based practices (Like the strength and recovery practices we teach) you will maintain healthier tissues. If your tissues are healthy you will recover faster, train harder and get more results from your training efforts. How do you train efficient and holistic qualities back into your body? 14.01.2022 Bec is using her newly developed strength to demonstrate a Feet Supported Pike Dip. This movement is an excellent bridging progression to achieve a full Dip. Performance cues: - keep Scapulae depressed, contract arms tight into body.... - squeeze the rings with your grip, and contract your core to imagine lifting your feet off the box. - Hold the rep locked out at the top for 1-3sec & take 3-5sec to pull yourself down each rep. I recommend progressively developing the capacity to perform 5reps X5-8 sets in a single session. When you can perform this volume cleanly, you should be able to perform a full Ring Dip. *This guidance is not exhaustive. It is most likely that you have tightnesses and weaknesses in specific joints/tissues that will NEED to be addressed in order to maximise your progress and longevity.
