17.01.2022 Get To Know Your Staff Introducing our Club Manager Megan! Here are 5 answered questions to get to know Meg better! ... Question 1: What are you most proud of in the last year? "I think this would be a similar answer to a lot of people with the events of last year but the personal growth I had through the year. I had a lot of changes happen in my life and the way I overcame them was pretty awesome. I look back and appreciate that I am now a stronger, more independant version of myself, definitely not the same person I was a year ago". Question 2: What’s your favorite thing about your current job? "How amazing the people are.. seems like a stereotype to say this but my job is enjoyable because I see so many friendly faces throughout the day. Big shoutout to our members as they are always happy to have a chat and a laugh before or after their workout" Question 3: Are you into podcasts or do you only listen to music? "I enjoy both! My music taste changes depending on my mood or what I am doing. If I listen to a podcast I usually go for 'She's On The Money' which is a great financial podcast for women or 'Confessions Of A Trainwreck' for something funny". Question 4: What is the last thing you binged on Netflix? "I think I finished the Queen's Gambit in 2 days! I usually put on the New Girl or The Office to have something playing in the background when I'm home though". Question 5: Your best advice for members? "Take one step at a time, this works for everything. Whether you are planning something big, trying to achieve set goals, if you're overwhelmed or even if you're just a busy bee like myself. I remind myself to break down the scenarios and focus on one thing at a time. Helps ground me and makes things easier and less stressful to achieve!' Megan is your first point of contact in the club so if you have any questions or just want to say hi please do!

16.01.2022 Our member Josie killing our leg press machine! We have 3x leg press machines in the club, this exercise is a great all rounder for your leg muscles! The movement can target the quads, glutes, hamstrings and calves by mixing up your feet placement. Please see staff if you need any assistance in the club!
16.01.2022 ASSISTED DIPS // PULL UP MACHINE As it's name suggests this pin-loaded machine is perfect for those needing some help performing dips and pull ups.. if you struggling to lift your body weight this will help you progress! How does it work? ... It is the exact opposite to any other pin-loaded machine in the gym, usually the more weight (kg) added to a machine the harder the exercise is to perform, whereas on the assisted dip/pull up machine the more weight you have loaded the easier the exercise is to do. This is because the weight you have loaded on is the weight that is taken off of your body weight making it easier to lift yourself up. We recommend reading the instructions on the machine before using or seeing staff first so we can assist you if you're unsure!

14.01.2022 6 WEEK CHALLENGE! To help keep you motivated for the next 6 weeks while we are closed, we have created a Myzone Challenge for all our Myzone users looking to stay active at home! The challenge starts Monday 10th August and ends 21st September. You will be competing against our Oslo community to earn the most MEPS (Myzone Effort Points). We love this system because each person will earn their MEPS based on their own fitness levels, so it's fair game. It's all about getting... moving daily and getting your heart rate up! For those who aren't sure how MYZONE MEPS work.. Each coloured zone during your workout earns the following points; GREY zone: 50%-59% effort. 1 MEP per minute. BLUE zone: 60%-69% 2 MEPs per minute. GREEN zone: 70%-79% 3 MEPs per minute. YELLOW zone: 80%-89% 4 MEPs per minute. RED zone: 90%-100% 4 MEPs per minute. During your runs, home workouts, rides, walks aim to get your heart-rate up and into the yellow/red zone to earn the most points Leaderboard is updated daily and there will be small shoutouts and prizes to be won. We will begin posting workout ideas next week also! If you have a registered belt you would already have been invited to the challenge, go to your Myzone app > Menu > Challenges. If you aren't invited yet, are yet to receive your belt or need some tricks and tips please send us a DM. Good luck team!
14.01.2022 Full house tonight in our Core Blitz session Full of motivated members starting their week off right. It’s important to identify your Why? when it comes to staying motivated. 11.01.2022 Last month of 2020, let's make it count!
11.01.2022 What are the top biggest mistakes people make at the gym? 1. Their chosen exercises/workouts are not realistic.. Too many people grab exercise plans online and follow it with bad results. Too often, exercises are not realistic with your fitness level. It's hard to stick to the plan when it's not created for you, and it's even risk for injury when you are not sure about the exercises. ... 2. You're doing the same workouts over and over again.. Your body adapts quickly doing the same routine everyday and you can also lose interest. Progress demands variation. Follow your plan for 6-8 weeks and change stimulus after that. 3. You're skipping the warmup... Skipping warmup is for the lazy ones. And guess what, you are not winning anything! Research tells that your performance will be better if you do a proper warmup and better performance means better results. Plus, skipping warmup is a risk for injury. 4. You're going too fast.. If you have been sitting on a sofa for years, you are not in a hurry. Aim for change where you change your habits for the rest of our life and results will follow. 5. You let yourself get distracted.. Focus on the game. Forget your phone and social media while you are training. Less rest, more effort! 6. You neglect your diet.. Gains need energy! You can't exercise without fuel and, you will not recover without food. 7. Not consulting anyone... Ask for help. Friend, trainer, or just somebody from the gym to get moving forward.

05.01.2022 Happy Wednesday Oslo-ers! Week one done and dusted with the closure of our club, which means one week closer to reopening! ISO TIP We can find ourselves out of our usual routine during isolation, including our exercise and diet! Many new factors come into play and we subconsciously make decisions based on how we feel at that time. ... Here is a quick and easy way to help rethink those decisions made in the kitchen.. When you find yourself opening the fridge for the 4th time today... think to yourself 'HALT'. Are you hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired? If you can make the connection to what you're feeling you can determine if it's hunger, and if it's not hunger you can try different solutions to accommodate how you're actually feeling. You've got this! Keep up the positivity team
