24.01.2022 We have had a number of enquiries about what the recent Bald Hills supreme court decision means. The article below provides a succinct summary of the findings and resultant outcomes for Bald Hills and other wind farms.

24.01.2022 It has come to our attention that there was an issue with our website. Some of the numbers regarding the area of native vegetation removal were incorrect. The decimal points dropped out when converting to web text. This is being rectified now. Sorry for the confusion.

23.01.2022 DELWP has published the planning applications for the Delburn Wind Farm proposal on their web site. Please note that on Friday 22 January, DELWP requested additional information that is required before they can accept our application for assessment. We will be working to fulfil this request over the next week or so. DELWP have advised us that when we provide the additional information, they will post the updated documents online. Please be aware that what is published here is not necessarily final. To avoid any confusion OSMI will only be publishing the final documents on our web site. Further information will be provided after Australia Day.

20.01.2022 Today is #GlobalWindDay. Here at OSMI we support a renewables lead recovery. Let’s #BuildBackBetter.

19.01.2022 In case you missed it, our pre-development fund is now open for applications. For more information and the application form, please see our website https://osmi.com.au/community/community-benefits-scheme/

18.01.2022 Our referral to the Minister for Planning, as required under the Environmental Effects Act 1978, for the Delburn Wind Farm has just been posted on the Victorian government planning web site. This referral provides the Minister for Planning with preliminary information on the environmental impacts of our project to allow him to make a decision as to whether or not to require an Environmental Effects Statement to be completed. The referral can be found here: https://www.planning.vic.gov.au/env/referrals-and-decisions

16.01.2022 Cubico Sustainable Investments (Cubico) has been announced as the principal project investor for the Delburn Wind Farm. Cubico is a leader and global investor in renewable energy with investments in 13 countries and an installed capacity of around 4 GW, has joined OSMI Australia as joint development partner in the Delburn Wind Farm and will purchase 100% of the project prior to the commencement of construction. Cubico is committed to working closely with the community surrou...nding the project and will honour all commitments made by OSMI, such as maximising local procurement opportunities and the delivery of a best practice Community Benefits Scheme. OSMI will continue to provide ongoing services (covering matters such as community engagement, development approvals compliance) through the construction period and early operations given our knowledge of the project and established relationships with the key project stakeholders. https://www.cubicoinvest.com/ See more

15.01.2022 Our latest e-news is available now.

11.01.2022 Applications for our first round of predevelopment fund grants close next week on Wednesday September 30. Projects and organisations that benefit community health and the environment in and around the wind farm site are eligible for funding. For more information and the application form, please see our website https://osmi.com.au/community/community-benefits-scheme/

10.01.2022 Decisions have been reached on both of our recent environmental referrals. See below for more details.

07.01.2022 Due to a number of concerns raised by residents in regards to the EPBC referral documentation, in recognition of the clerical error and to allow residents more time to prepare submissions, we have decided to withdraw our referral under the EPBC Act and resubmit. We will notify the public of our re-submission date via this page, our website and e-news, and put the submitted documents on our website.

06.01.2022 Anthony Boxshall has been appointed as the Independent Chair for the Community and Stakeholder Consultative Committee. For more information, click on the link.

04.01.2022 As reported on the news we can confirm that the meteorological mast located at the proposed Delburn Wind Farm site has been vandalised, and as a result the mast has collapsed in an uncontrolled manner. This incident is now subject to an ongoing police investigation. Due to the nature of the collapse, the mast remains unsafe and the site has been cordoned off to prevent public access. OSMI has engaged specialist contractors to make the site safe and clean up the site; however..., due to COVID-19 restrictions currently in place the contractors are not able to attend the site immediately. We expect the mast to be removed during the course of next week. The land on which the mast is located is private property and as the mast is unsafe, we request that the public stay well away from the site for their own safety. We are continuing with our plans to progress the project through the planning process, and if/when we install a replacement mast we will inform the community in advance of this taking place. It is disappointing that people have chosen to express themselves in this manner, however it is also fortunate that whoever did this has not been seriously injured or worse through their actions. Should anyone in the community have concerns or objections to the proposal, we request that they get in touch with us to discuss these concerns further. We also note that there is the opportunity for community members to make formal submissions to the decision makers through the planning process.

03.01.2022 Latest e-news. Our planning permit documents are now on our website.
