20.01.2022 Hey Everyone, With the Covid 19 environment changing daily we feel it important to keep our players informed and up to date of measures we are taking to minimise the risk at our centre for our players. We ask that if you or your teammates have mild cold or flu symptoms that have gone unchecked by a doctor, we ask you avoid the centre for 2 weeks or until given the all clear by a doctor. This includes anyone that has returned from overseas since 9pm March 15th. ... All bathrooms are fully stocked with hand soap and we would appreciate players washing their hands before and after games. Otherwise games will go ahead as normal including finals this week. Although it is customary to high five between sets and shake at the end of the games alternative options to reduce risk and meet social isolation suggestions include: Fist bump Shakas Elbows Thank you for your understanding, and good luck to all teams in grand finals. 13.01.2022 We're Back!! Hey Fam, With the government easing restrictions to 20 people indoors we will be opening up social competitions as of next week. This will take an unusual format for a few weeks until restrictions ease further. ... We will run DUO competitions only Monday - Thursday. Starting MONDAY 25TH OF MAY Game times will be 6pm, 7pm and 8pm (9pm if interest demands this) Games will be 3x14 minute sets. We ask that you arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled game and leave promptly after finishing. Arriving earlier for a 6pm game is fine. Nominations will only be accepted via SMS to: Rod 0409 407 536 Please provide a: - Team name - What night you want to play (Mon-Thurs) - Advanced/Intermediate Nominations close 24hr before each evening, Fixtures will be posted online shortly after. Cost will be $44 per duo ($22 each). Unfortunately we don't have Eftpos, so still cash only. Nominations are per week only, so you will need to nominate each week you want to play. No spectators will be allowed as we are strictly permitted 20 patrons only. This will only be for the short term until restrictions ease further. We look forward to seeing you all on the sand!! 09.01.2022 SUPERLEAGUE TRY-OUTS 2020/2021: Hi all. Tryouts for the upcoming Superleague season will be held: - Sunday 13th of September 10am-12noon - Saturday 19th of September 4pm-6pm... Try outs are open to all Ossie Players so please do your best to attend at least one of these dates if you are interested in representing Ossie Park this season. Superleague is the only representative competition for indoor beach volleyball in the state. The skill level is high and competition exceeds levels in our social comps and therefor is suitable for more skilled players. Rounds will be held on the following dates with game times and locations still to be finalised. 24/10, 21/11, 12/12 and the last round and finals dates will be in early 2021 but yet to be finalised. 03.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN!! Ossie Indoor is fully re-opening on June 6 with Saturday Drop in! Team games start on Monday June 8! Hi Ossie Indoor Players,... We are back to relatively normal play (i.e. <100 players per session) starting June 6, which is a drop in Saturday night. We’ve had about 30 teams re-nominate already for our weeknight competitions and hope the majority of our teams do so quickly, so we can get fixtures up by Friday, June 5. We cannot assume all teams from before Shutdown will play again when we re-open so please re-register ASAP. The new season will begin from: Monday June 8 4-a-side. 01.01.2022 Hi volleyball fam! Hope you’re all well and not much longer till will can all get back on the sand. Just wanted to let you guys know a little about a physio some of us have been seeing during the forced closure. ... Lucia is a Physiotherapist and founder of Formotion Physio which operates 150m away from Ossie. They focus mostly on sports injuries, injury prevention and improving sports performance by looking at fixing issues with flexibility, strength and control. While Covid-19 is happening they have started online classes and group sessions - We have asked her to develop a virtual "Bulletproof your Shoulder" session for volleyballers which would help you stay strong and healthy until volleyball is back.
